Mourinho Lacks Respect – Ranieri

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri says that Jose Mourinho showed a lack of respect by skipping his press duties before and after Inter’s game with Lecce in midweek.

Mourinho has received a lot of criticism in the peninsula after he passed on his media duties to his assistant Giuseppe Baresi.

Lecce coach Mario Beretta was particularly vocal, saying that The Special One “needed to show more respect towards journalists, fans and Lecce.”

Now Ranieri, who has never had a good relationship with Mourinho, has agreed that it is disrespectful to shun the press.

“It's hard to stay more than an hour after a game to give interviews,” said Ranieri at Juve’s pre-match press conference this afternoon.

“However, I think that being in a Press conference is seen as a form of respect to Italian fans

“It's a part of our job and it's only right to satisfy the curiosity of millions of people.”

Ranieri then spoke about Juve’s away trip to Genoa tomorrow evening where they will take on Sampdoria.

The Tinkerman is refusing to label the clash as must-win, despite the disappointing 1-1 home draw with Catania in midweek that has seen them fall two points behind league-leaders Inter.

“We drew but that doesn't mean that this game is a must-win,” said Ranieri.

“We must stay calm and regain the energies and motivation without playing with anxiety.”
