I really hate them, first off, they take themselves and movies was too seriously. They act like every movie has to be a masterpiece and if it isn't they give it a poor rating. What a pathetic bunch of people. Screw em'. BCB's bit, 'take a movie for what it's worth'.
You're right. I don't really like them. They give low ratings to pretty solid movies. It seems like they just like 1 type of movie and if it isn't like that then it loses points to them, like any movie for children...
I really dont like movie critics eaither. There not open to different types of genres. I swear they still sit in a room and play circle jerk around Titanic
I'm not going to hate on movie critics because let's face it, were all critics ourselves. It's their opinion on a movie and if you don't like it, then don't read it. What I do is basically find critics who have the same taste as I do, and tend to read there's when a new movie comes out. For me it's good judge on what I should see or not. But in the end, I'll make that decision myself.
I don't really rely on critics that much. If I want to see it I will always check it out, but if it gets and F rating I'd more than likely just find a way to see it on the internet. If it gets a C- or less then I'd rent it and if it just looks so amazing in the trailers I go to the movies if I can.
I don't really like critics, but I see where they're coming from. I have gotten to the point where I would like to see something original when I go to see a movie. There is a point in life where you forget whether that clever line came from Mighty Ducks 2, Rookie of the Year, Angels in the Outfield, Remember the Titans, blah blah. Point is, the same thing has been done time after time, so when something like Se7en or American History X comes around, yeah, I want to hear that it is a very original movie. So it's nice when someone has the sense to call something mediocre at least anything besides "good," because then you can know what truly is original and worth your time.
