Movies & Shows

I need some descent movies and shows. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'll watch pretty much any genre of movie as long as it is enjoyable. Fav genre's are comedy and action.

I mainly watch comedy shows but again, anything good will do.

Really recommendations will receive +rep.

As far as TV shows go, I definitely recommend Justified and Fringe. I've watched most of the first season of Justified and I'm on the second season of Fringe, and both are fantastic.

 

I've been watching The Event.. which reminds me I need to watch the new episodes. I also like Archer, its sorta funny.

 

There's a movie rating thread so theres a lot of suggestions there.

for tv:

- friday night lights. can't recommend it enough, awesome show
- fringe. joshua jackson is a scene-stealer
- white collar: matt bomer and tim dekay have amazing chemistry
- mad men
- the walking dead
- how i met your mother

 

My favorite character on Fringe so far is actually Walter, though I do like Josh Jackson's character as well. Overall, it's a very well-cast show.

Oh, I also second Archer. I personally think it's the funniest show on TV right now.

I also feel the need to endorse Firefly. It's a shame that show only got one season, because it's one of the best sci-fi series I've watched.

 

Party down is a funny tv show. Only two 10 episode seasons though. It's about a bunch of aspiring actors that work for a catering company.

Firefly is the most overlooked show ever. Damn shame it got cancelled. Great plot, great cast, it just never gained a following.

 

It also spawned off a great movie in Serenity. I think there's been talks of making a prequel movie to the series, and it'd be great to see another movie spawned from the series.

 

The Wire, hands down, the best TV show of all time.

 

I'd put Mad Men ahead of The Wire, but yeah, thats my top 2.

 

Parks and Rec is really funny, I would recommend that. Community is another that I would recommend if you haven't seen it.
