What are some movies that you have a lot of respect for? Wether it's the directing, the script writing, etc. And why...Shindler's List- This movie is all about impact. This movie put a major impact on me when I watched it. Spielberg's directing was just beyond amazing. I also have a lot of respect for this movie because it brought back the Holocaust to the public eye when this movie came out, 1993. It made more people understand and realize what actually happened in the 40's to Jewish people. Spielberg has a lot of hidden things is this movie. Just to add extra emphasis to his points. For example the way people get contrast on them, like if someone is standing by a window their whole body might be white because of the sun. The little stuff like that has a big meaning behind it. Btw, this movie is in black and white. It might be a long movie, but worth the 2 something hours. The Breakfast Club- Might sound kind of silly. Because this movie is labeled as a comedy, maybe even a drama. But it has more behind it. John Hughes had a reason when he wrote this movie. This is a movie anyone can relate to. It features people of all types of cliches... a criminal, a nerd, a jock, etc. It shows how people judge one another from a bias stereotype and by bonding they can change how you view someone. A very influential movie. The dialogue in this movie is fast, but I think it is necessary and I understand why Hughes wrote it that way.I'll add more later
I have mad respect for The Breakfast Club, usually those kind of movies are pretty corny but it worked. Saving Private Ryan made me think a lot more about what our veterans did for us during WW2. Love that movie.
I co-sign with Breakfast club. The movie had a good message and it was portrayed well. Other movies that I have respect are include:The Godfather Series.- I just can't get enough of them. They are pretty long (about 4 hrs each) but to watch it you have to think, to fully understand the movies. Classic Series.Die Hard.- The first movie in the series is the only one I really have respect for. It had great action scenes and it was well directed. It's one of those action-packed movies that you can actually enjoy and can watch again.American History X.- This was a pretty trippy movie. It's mainly about these skinheads in the United States, and how one of them tries to stop his younger brother from going down the same path he did. It was a very well written movie, and left me silence after watching. It shows how horrible racism is/can be.Rocky I and II.- Love these movies. There are like 6 movies in the series and the latest one that came out last December was decent but I personally like the first 2 the most. The Fugitive.- Harrison Ford plays a man who ends up on deathrow iafter being convicted of brutally murdering his wife, when he was actually innocent. The movie has planty if twists and ingenious the way he has to outrun the FBI and prove his case and innocence.Pulp Fiction.- Ah, this movie is just plain fun to watch. I had to watch this movie twice to get a full understanding of the movie. This was because of how the scenes are cut into different segments and aren't necessarily in order but I really like this movie. I have tremendous respect for it and all the movies I listed. There are others though.
I agree with Saving Private Ryan, really good movie that you think about a while after you see it. What a great ending to it.Also, The Exorcist. It was made in the early 70's with horrible effects to todays standards and it is still considered one of, if not the, greatest horror movie of all time.

They still stand well imo. And it's just a bonus, that they are hardworking effects and not some digitized not there effect.
Citizen KaneDances With Wolvestheres alot other, but those are the two I "respect" the most. It took Costner like 8 years to do Dances With Wolves, and Citizen Kane is a pure classic...some say greatest film ever.
