Alright so there are thousands of great movies out there and not all of them were huge hollywood blockbusters everyone and their mama has seen.
Some are forgotten over time but still good.

In here, recommend a movie you really liked but think most people have not seen. Whether it's newer or older, just give the title and a little bit about the movie.

    My recommendation:

"Swimming with Sharks" An HBO movie with Kevin Spacey as a big hollywood movie executive and his relationship with his new intern. Spacey's character Buddy Ackerman is an absolute bastard and really puts the screws on his new intern. Great character driven movie.

25th hour with edward norton - it was in theaters but didnt get much respect... bout a guy bout to go to jail and his last hours of freedom... i love edward norton hehe (fight club is good but its a cult film so i dont kno if this counts)

requiem for a dream - it has jennifer connelly (spelling) and marlon williams ( but its not a comedy ) its about drugs... whether weight loss pills, or drugs to get high... how an addiction can ruin ur life... great movie also has ellen burstyn and jared leto

equilibrium - is a futuristic film but it has gun-fu which is like martial arts with guns... but it has to do with suppressing emotions... because emotions are bad and it creates crime [IMG] so the government makes u take pills so u dont have emotions.

I've seen all 3 and they are underated gems, although Equilibrium has great word of mouth.

Requiem for a Dream shook me up.. It was hard to watch the further they went into despair and desperation.. it was just sad to see. The mother was the most horrific of the bunch IMO.

    my reccomendation;

'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels'
    http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0120735/

First big film by Guy Ritchie, kinda the predecessor to Snatch.

If you liked Snatch, you'll love this. A bit more gritty, but just as clever and with as many little different characters. Well written and acted.
It's about a small time hustler who saves up and gets into a big underground poker game.. only it's run by one of the biggest mob guys in England.. and it's rigged. He gets in over his head and now he and his crew have to do something drastic to come up with the money owed.

I would highly recommend Donnie Darko. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

ya know, it's cheesy and silly and yet I get sucked in to this comedy because of how good Richard Pryor is in it.
that and the premise is kind of cool too [IMG]

I never even heard of this movie when it came out, but my friend had in on DVD several years after it had come out, really interesting and somewhat twisted movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Antoine Fisher. A great movie in Denzel Washington's directing debut. Great piece of work.

First I want to say that the music in the video below is funny (you'll recognize it), but this is a serious movie suggestion in spite of that. I think it is quite a dramatic piece with superb acting, and I've recommended it before.

    "American Psycho", with Christian Bale.

Requiem for a Dream was really good and if you want to see a similar movie that really shows the rawness of falling into addiction/recovery/relapse, etc. I'd highly recommend The Basketball Diaries. Also, yeah Equilibrium is really good.

    Also second Donnie Darko.

And I'll add in The Island. Really good modern sci-fi movie that went way under the radar.
