Oh boy. At this point I do not care about the team
having the best record. NO MORE INJURIES!

Did you ever care about having the best record? If so...why?

The Met is just about done. Hank back for the last 10 or so. MSL back for the last 5 or so. Let's get the cup.

They need the best record so when they verse a team in the conference finals or in the cup finals they can have home ice

Who cares...home ice means very little. 2 of the last 11 Pres trophy winners have won the SC. Enough said.

Do we know who we'll play in round 3 or round 4?

It is 100% pointless to push to try and win something no one cares about...ask AV who has two Pres trophies as a coach and ZERO cups.

When it comes playoffs, I agree, home advantage
    does not exist these days.

So you would rather take game 7 of the ECF or SCF on the road? Even though Hank impeccable game 7-home record?

First place or an onslaught of injuries? Your call.

I don't see see the correlation between first place and an onslaught of injuries. I don't see how having the best record means enduring costly injuries.

When the Rangers won in 94, they also won the President's Trophy.... And good thing they did becauSe they had Game 7 at the garden

Great point strud. 21 years ago they won the cup and the Pres trophy. Very timely reference...LOL.

Is there a direct correlation to not winning the Pres trophy means we cannot have home ice in the ECF or SCF if we make it that far? You know which teams we'd play in those rounds? The Kings had home ice last year and were no where near winning the Pres trophy.

Did we have home ice in rounds 2 or 3 last season?

You win your division and you have home ice the first two rounds. From there it will be what it will be.

If we win the Pres trophy, great. If we don't win the Pres trophy, great. Doesn't matter AT ALL with regards to winning a cup. And I would do NOTHING to "go for" the Pres trophy. If guys need some rest, give them rest. Don't go all in for that meaningless title. The 100% focus should be winning the cup, not a meaningless regular season award. Let the chips fall where they may from there.

Worry about getting past two rounds where they likely have home ice instead of a game seven of the finals.

I'll use one of your lines Chuck, agree to disagree. I just don't why they wouldn't gun for the leagues best record, especially if they currently have it with about 10 games to go. You can bet the farm that if on the last game of the season the Rangers need to win for the Presidents trophy AV will go for it... Remember they can't use call ups when everyone is back healthy because they don't have the cap space so they likely won't be scratching players to rest

And Chuck don't blame me for the 1994 reference, it's not my fault MSG has hammers viewers with show after show after show about that ancient run... I heard they're retiring Matteau's jersey next year , then Larmer's

Correlation. The increase of injuries on the
Rangers, the less their chance of finishing
    first.

You know why they wouldn't gun to have the best record...IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Sorry but that is the truth. If the goal is the cup...IT DOESN'T MATTER.

It can matter in the grand scheme of things Chuck. They can def win the cup without being the #1 seed but they can also give up an advantage in the SCF by not getting the 1st seed

We'll see, let it play out but I doubt the team is going to let some team off easy because they might win the dreaded President's Cup

2 of the last 11 Pres trophy winners won the cup. Not sure what else you need to see it doesn't matter.

If we win it that's great. If we don't win it that's great also. I would not go over the top or out of my way at all to try and win it. I just don't see the point.

All good though, we agree to disagree as you said. You would go all out to win the Pres trophy I would not. I don't see a huge advantage to it and the numbers show that I believe.

    All good.

And just to clarify one thing. Your last comment makes it sound like I think it is a bad thing or a curse to win the Pres trophy, I don't feel that way at all.

If we win it that is great, I certainly won't be upset. All I am saying is I wouldn't go out of my way to try and win. That's my point. If it happens, so be it no issues.
