I think Tyson-Holyfield was more hyped, as was Tyson-McNeeley. At least Tyson and Holyfield were in their primes or at least not washed the fuck up.
This is the closest bout to bringing boxing back to relevancy since....? But otherwise, boxing has been lame since Tyson faded. I can't wait for the day that boxing really becomes primetime again.
I still feel we were cheated by waiting 4-5 years for the fight to finally happening. Its a pure cash/whore out, there isn't the same hatred or the fighters being in their prime. The only way its interesting is if Pacquaio wins (which I doubt) and the rematch will be more hyped up since it'll be a little more "even". This isn't the same Pacquiao. He's lost a step and his focus from when he could have beaten Mayweather, which is what that little bitch Money Mayweather was planning all along.
MMA is close to boxing. Two dudes rubbing it out on each other. It's only filling the void because we've been lacking in legit boxers for some time. When that shit comes back, MMA will die down. The money is too great in boxing. MMA can't compare.
The money is better in boxing but it's way harder to become a real money maker and boxing takes a bigger toll on your health.
I like watching Boxing over MMA. At least for the big fights. You can't beat it. These delays have pissed me off though. Fight will not be that good.
Deontay Wilder disagrees. I've got hopes for Bryant Jennings too (but those will likely be dashed on 4/25 after Klitschko crushes him )
all the boxing money is in the top 1%. MMA has a much better system for up and coming fighters, also they can't dodge other fighters like Mayweather has done to Paqcquio over the years. Boxing has been dead for years, this fight is the last big name match which will probably end in a controversial decision for Mayweather.
I agree and the money doesn't really matter if you're getting punched in the face and only live to be 50 some odd years old. MMA is a lot safer.
