<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MILWAUKEE -- There's no need to sugarcoat what's going on with Flip Murray. The Detroit Pistons are doing their best to trade him prior to Thursday afternoon's trading deadline. "If it happens, it happens," Murray said of being traded. "I've been through this too many times to worry about it too much." In his fifth NBA season, the 27-year-old has already been traded twice and has been rumored to be on the trading block in every other season he wasn't traded. "It's all about trying to find the right fit, the right home," said Murray, who has not played in nine of the Pistons' last 13 games, including Tuesday's 84-83 win at Milwaukee. "I haven't found that yet." Murray signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract with the Pistons in July to be Chauncey Billups' backup at point guard. He has struggled off the bench, and wasn't much better when he started eight games in place of Billups, who was sidelined with a right calf injury. "He's a guy that has to be ready when called upon," coach Flip Saunders said of Murray. "And as you always say, you have to utilize your minutes when you get them." Murray was optimistic that things would be different in Detroit, but he doesn't seem to be discouraged that it hasn't worked out as expected. "Things have never been easy for me, anyway," said Murray, the Division II player of the year at Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C.. "I had to work for everything I got to be here, coming from Division II and playing in all those camps, summer leagues, trying to prove myself and make a name for myself -- it's been a struggle for me since Day One. It's still going to be a struggle, until I get to that point and that place where I can be me and play my game." He just might get that opportunity later this week -- with another team.</div> Link Hope that Joe Dumars lives up to his reputation and does the classy thing for Ron Murray.
I really like Flip Murray, always have, so it hurts me to see hear that he wants to be traded, but if he isnt going to be happy with the role we give him, then it is probally best for him to move on elsewhere.
