Let's try to give LMA a nice big chant tonight. What I'd really love would be a cross-stadium L-Train chant, where it starts slow with half the stadium screaming "L" and the other half screaming "TRAIN!" in response, then speeding it up slowly. But that would require jumbotron help I think. So how about anyone going to the game tonight try to get an "MVP" chant going for him, louder than any of the ones before. Because he really deserves a nice big chant.
This. Absolutely DO NOT chant MVP for LMA. Every arena now chants MVP for their best player, and it's annoying because 99% are not MVP caliber. Including Aldridge.
I think LMA is MVP-caliber this year. He had MVP-caliber numbers when the team was decimated by injury, and he is playing defense as well as any PF in the NBA.

I would expect an MVP level player be able to be the focal point and possess the ability to carry your team deep in to the playoffs. This new version of LMA has an opportunity to do just that. And if he does, I will certainly change my tune. But as it stands - no. I don't see him as MVP material.
Chanting LMA name over and over would be awesome but the MVP chant is way overdone and honestly Aldridge is not in that upper echelon.
Good points. In deference to the forum not only will I not start a chant, I won't participate in one either, and will do my best to discourage any chants that might be misconstrued as too enthusiastic or appreciative. Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you!
Only if he competes well (gets his stats) against Zach Randolph. Aldridge strikes me as the kind of guy who doesn't value MVP's, all-star games, MIP's over winning. Regardless, people are going to chant if he gets to the free-throw line often.
