BTW, ladies and gentlemen...Chris Paul can't sniff Kobe. He wasn't even close in MVP voting. Kobe had 82 first place votes (would've been ironic if it was 81) and 1,105 votes overall. Paul had 28 first place votes and 889 overall.
LeBron had 1 first place vote. God damn, I'm glad these writers didn't disappoint me. That's so satisfying to here.

It shouldn't have been too close, the distance in voting is fine. Paul had a great year, but his team dealt with no adversity. Kobe led this team through injuries to key pieces (Gasol, Bynum, Ariza), played with a broken finger and torn tendon in his shooting hand, a slight tear in his quadriceps muscle, led the team in adjusting to Gasol, set the grounds for Bynum's breakout year (main credit goes to Bynum, but even he has stated that Bryant's criticism led to his motivation). Take away Chandler and David West for a big chunk of the season and the Hornets don't contend for the top spot.
Yea, I'm just nitpicking. Ultimately the margin of victory is pretty pointless. The right man got the award and that's all that counts.

I'm sure the dude who does the highlight videos over at LG will have this up soon and I'm sure it'll be on youtube soon. Luke Walton and Tex Winters asked hilarious questions.
"It's been a long ride, coming here when I was 17 years old and standing here almost 30. I'm and old man, I've got tendonitis. I've just been through all the wars in front of all these people here. I'm very proud to represent this organization and represent this city." - Kobe "The thing that is different about the Lakers franchise is that they aren't just Lakers that wore the uniform....you're talking about some of the greats of all time." - 24 Phil called Kobe the hardest working player he's ever coached/seen and the most deserving player ever, of the MVP. That is respect, people. Phil has coached one of the greatest players, if not the greatest, and credits Kobe for being more deserving and more hard-working than MJ. Sheer brilliance and absolute respect from Phil.
To paraphrase: Luke Walton: Since you credit your teammates for making this award possible, will you be buying your teammates any gifts. Tex Winters: Since now is the greatest time ever, Kobe, do you like the triangle offense? So you know, Tex Winters is regarded as the master of the triangle.

I can't wait to see it.
It's been long overdue. I looked at the voting results, and I'm surprised that Dwight Howard didn't get a single 1st/2nd/3rd place vote? Kobe actually had a pretty big lead over Paul, I thought it was going to be way closer.

Whby does the NBA even give out awards before the season is even over? It's pretty stupid. You need to do it after the season, to keep interest in the sport alive during the summer. It's probably the only thing that MLB has got down right.
