I thought I would update this for you guys now that I have been playing it for a couple weeks. I hope I answer any questions the people considering to buy one one might have. A lot of you guys have been IMing me and asking questions about the system so here is my detailed reviewDesign:The good: The overall look of the Playstion 3 is great, Black and chrome silver really go good together. I love the way you insert games, It goes in like a car CD player. The discs slide into the system directly, with no loading tray needed.Every controller is wireless which is sweet, It's extremely light also. The bad: The thing is massive, It weighs 11 pounds. The controllers don't have a vibrating feature.Graphics:The good: The graphics on this thing are amazing,They covered every single little detail possible. When playing NBA 2K7 I noticed during the game you see the fans getting out of there seats to go to the bathroom or walking down the steps looking for their seats. You can see the sweat dripping off the players face and even see all the dimples in the ball, The reflection on the floor looks amazing. When you make a shot/dunk it sounds like your in the arena. Need for Speed had the best graphics I have ever seen from a game system. Screeshots at the end of my post. The bad: Nothing.Motion Sensors: The good: The motion sensors are sweet, To shoot free throws in NBA 2K7 you actually have to move your hands in free throw motion like you would in real life. I stand up and bend my knees like I'm on a real court. For racing games you can steer using the controller. Everything is motion sensored, You eject games and turn off the system with the touch of a finger. The bad: It's hard to get used to at first, I missed nearly ever free throw I shot when I first started. I still only shoot about 60% from the line.Extra features: You can play people online for free, That's the best part. It holds movies and MP3's. It has a $1,000 Blue Ray system installed which I'm guessing is pretty amazing. I haven't tried it out yet. It also has internet which is pretty sweet, I can browse the forums while sitting in my recliner. Conclusion: This system is a must own if you're willing to dish out the cash for it. The games are only going to get better, This system has so much potential. The price is a huge turnoff, and the lack of launch titles hurt the system. You could pay the money and then realize you like the 360 better, It happens. To be honest, It's an amazing system but it's not worth 600 bucks, I don't think any game system is. It's an amazing system and it may be worth it to other people. But not to me. The system alone is 600 bucks, 60 for a game, 50 for an extra controller. You end up paying an enormous amount of money. I would go with the 360 unless you don't mind paying for it. It was a gift given to me but I wouldn't pay for it with my own money.Screen shots:
I wish you could play the 360 online for free, but the thing with Xbox Live is that it's much more organized and better than the ps3's online. Is that need for speed screenshot in-game? Or is it just a video clip the have between levels? Because I don't see how you could play at the same time with those graphics. Looks like a CGI [whatever they call it].Good review. The only thing is that I've heard so many different opinions on the ps3 and how they mount up against all the other systems. I've heard that the ps3 is doing the worst out of the 3 in terms of sales and that it's the worst next-gen system because there are so many downsides.

I agree with you, The PS3 online is a mess.2. It's in between levels, The graphics on the game are unreal also.3. Yeah, I heard a lot of bad about it as well. But every gaming forum I have been to whoever has one is in love with it. It's the people who have yet to play it that dislike it. I'm included, Before I played the system it didn't look it was going to be all that great. It's doing bad in sales because of the big price tag, Some went on Ebay for 5-6 thousand dollars though.I still want to try out the 360 to compare.
Oh yeah, I want to add to my post. To be honest, It's an amazing system but it's not worth 600 bucks, I don't think any game system is. The reason the other crap is that expensive is because thats how they make their money. If it wasn't for games, controllers, and accessories the PS3 would not even be created - that goes for other systems as well.
The thing that turned me off about the ps3 is that they were ripping off the other 2 consoles' ideas. They copied the Wii with the motion sensor controllers. And they copied the 360 in quite a few things. The achievement points, and other stuff that doesn't come to mind but is there. And then they just loaded their console up with a bunch of fancy stuff that is more practical for a computer.I need to play one though to make a real judgment.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ReppinTheD @ Jan 5 2007, 12:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>what?? how do you know they copied??</div>I read official xbox magazine, they have all the inside stuff on what all consoles are doing. The ps3 made their motion sensor controller at a convenient time when their boomerang-like controller was given bad reviews and after the Wii announced their controller. They copied the achievement system by the 360 because they just did. It's the exact same thing with a different name.

It's obvious they stole it... XBox 360 has been around forever. The Wii motion thing has been known about forever. They tried to steal some thunder. I guess if neither company patented the technology, it's their loss.

I'm sure both systems have games that look better than the other.
That screen shot for N4S is deceiving, because it is just a video clip... and that portion of the game looks EXACTLY the same on the 360.You can't really pass judgment on which is the better console (360 or PS3) for at least another year, because that is when you will start seeing a more complete line-up for PS3 and see more PS3-exclusive games.I honestly think there is no way the PS3 can beat out the 360 because Microsoft has done such a tremendous job with Xbox Live, and it will only continue to get better. It is DEFINITELY worth the $50 a year that I pay for it.

It's real people with some effects added to make it look like a video game. But I have PS3, and played 360 at my buddies house... There really was no comparison for me, PS3 flat out owned it in my opinion. I played NFS on both, PS3 wins GFX wise... at least from what I saw.2K7, really nothing to argue about, PS3 had better graphics.Madden was the only thing I didnd't notice a difference in both.

the only thing im worried about for the ps3 is the lack of games right now. I already got my bball fix for 360 so ill prolly wait to get a ps3 if at all. And hearing now that metal gear is coming to the 360 thats the biggest reason I wanted a ps3 but now I wont need it as much. Maybe Ill get a wii and play super smash bros online.
