Breakout Stars: Larry Johnson By: Kyle Lynch Priest Holmes may be getting all of the attention in the Chiefs backfield but here is someone else took look out for, Larry Johnson. Seemingly buried at No. 3 on the depth chart, Johnson stepped in when Holmes and Derrick Blaylock were injured and provided fantasy owners with a tremendous boost down the stretch. Johnson rushed for nine touchdowns in the final six weeks of the season, showing that almost any running back with a pulse can succeed behind the Chiefs' dominant offensive line. At Penn State, Johnson was a heisman candidate for Joe Paterno. He saw action in 46 games in his four years at Penn State. In his final year, which was his heisman campaign, he 176 time for 2,953 yards which is a 6.4 average per carry. Hauled in 65 passes for 681 yards. He was also a kick-off returner, 39 kickoff returns for 1,347 yards, which shows he is very versatile. He possesses a rugged running style that wears down opposing defenses and helps him pick up tough yards. He is a shifty between-the-tackles ball carrier also possesses breakaway speed (he ran the 40 in 4.59) He has exciting potential materialized with a breakout performance last season against Oakland where he gained a career-high 174 total yards, including 118 yards on the ground. That is an amazing performance considering he didn't play one game in 2003. A week later he followed up his first career 100-yard game with another outstanding performance, picking up 107 yards and two TDs at Tennessee and the week following he had another career game gaining 151 yards from the ground with two scores vs. Denver, becoming the first Chiefs player to register three consecutive 100-yard rushing games since Holmes did it in five straight games in 2002. He opened eyes on the NFL?s biggest regular season stage when he was selected the Monday Night Football Player of the Game and had his picture affixed to the MNF ?horse trailer? after racking up 114 yards and two TDs on JUST seven carries at Tennessee. This guy has an amazing future ahead of him. He has a great work ethic and does not get enough attention for it off the field. Look for him to get time as a third down back behind Priest Holmes creating arguably the best HB-FB trio in the league with Holmes and Johnson switching off and the leagues most underrated blocker, Tony Richardson.
Good article my freind.. That was good and I agree Larry Johnson is great. And with Homes injury problems Johnson will get alot of carries this season. I kind of scratched my head when the Cheifs drafted Johnson because at the time Holmes was the best back in the NFL and Baylock was a solid back up. But this move is paying off greatly. Good article keep it up

Sorry I forgot to login. And I also was kinda skeptical about the chiefs drafting johnson but he is the Chiefs back for the future.
Not a bad article. You have some run-on sentences as well as some incomplete sentences. There are also some grammatical errors. Overall, it is a good read. Keep up the good work.
