1. Fire Gilbride 2. Fire Fewell 3. Fire Reese 4. Fire Cashman and all the scouts on the Yankees and I'm not even a fan of that team. 5. Trade Melo, Schump, Smith and Chandler if possible and start over. 6. Trade either Girardi or MDZ for a good forward. 7. Sather hands over the job to somebody smart 8. Giants hire a GM who understands how to acquire extra picks and draft LB's. 9. See the Mets actually do something smart so I don't have to hear all the time about how they suck. 10. Jets, see number 9.
The best plan for the Knicks is to sit tight. After next season Chandler is up. Amare is up. Melo is up (although I am sure he will opt out this summer and re-sign for the max long term). The only player 100% on the books after next summer is Prigioni at 1.7 mill or so. Hardaway is a Knicks team option at 1.3 mill. Felton is a player option at around 4 mill (I bet he opts out of that). And JR is a player option at 6.4 mill (I lean towards him opting out right now). So no matter what, as is the Knicks will have a ton of cap space summer of 2015. Even if Melo, Prig, Hardaway, Felton, and JR stay the Knicks will be at 38 to 39 mill or so in salary, assuming 25 mill for Melo. So they will have space to sign another big money guy next summer (Love maybe) no matter what. And I think they will have even more because Felton and JR will most likely opt out looking for longer deals, barring injury the next two seasons. And maybe Melo takes around 20 mill or so this way we have more space (VERY DOUBTFUL). So the Knicks should just stay where they are now unless a gift deal is thrown their way. To make a deal for longer/bigger contracts would be dumb IMO. If anything maybe look for a deal to get rid of JR so we know for sure we have that extra money summer of 2015. I hated that re-signing the second it was done. While that all sounds great, the truth is the Knicks are a joke anyway, and with Mills running the show I have very little faith.
Didn't the Knicks trade their first round draft pick this year for that Italian scrub? They say this is the deepest draft in a decade. It would be typical of the stupid Knicks to trade their first rounder this year.
The Knicks should find a way to trade back into the top 10 of this draft.lol The Wizards will be tough for the next 5-6 years with Wall, Beal and probably another top 10 pick on the way.
