http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...8364#post108364 There were no Warriors fans here at the time. Amazing. Post yours here.
Mine was "Don't trade for Wallace. Jeez. Character does matter in a TEAM. Besides we don't have a backup center yet and if Portland is trying to get rid of him I say we give him somebody we could part with and Damp is not one of them. Besides it is possible Foyle could sign for less. He has been with the warriors ever since and has saved games with his hustle and great defensive play." That was in response to the Damp for Rasheed Wallace trade and filler rumor. It wasn't a good one because the warriors could lose him after the season and he wasn't the team's answer for a superstar and leader. In fact his tantrums for winning would frustrate the other teammates and get the team t'd up every game. You never trade down with a center unless you know you're getting a good deal or losing him anyway. Given the current structure of the salary cap, Damp ain't going anywhere unless its for the minimum or a sign and trade.
I cant find my first post because when I do the search, it only searches up to 500 and I have 597 posts, wait, now its 598. But here is #97. It shows my love for Dunleavy haha. http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...4742#post184742 Who cares? He can go cry in the corner for all I care. If I have to get someone else to play your position, then you are not very good and I would then say good riddance. I think he has potential, but he is a spoiled little kid who has been fed with a golden spoon and expects everything to go his way.
As true today as it was when it was written... "My hatred of Stanfurd players aside, I don't see any reason for drafting Childress. The lst thing the Warriors need is another 2/3. As for drafting a high schooler goes, not only do I think its possible, I'd say its probable. Besides the American high schoolers that are expected to be available (Livingston, Telfair, etc.) most of the euro big men are also 18-19 years old. All of those guys play positions of need for the Warriors, pg and pf/c. Although its likely that none of them will be ready to contribute right away, Musselman doesn't play rookies anyway, so its pretty much a moot point. Just looking at nbadraft.net, here's what my draft board would be if I were Saint (excluding who will most likely be off the board when the Warriors pick and assuming NVE and Damp are still on the team): 1. Nelson (but he's probably not going to be around) 2. Podkolzine 3. Gordon 4. Perovic 5. Felton 6. Lamarcus Aldridge If the Warriors go big with their first pick, I'd like to see them get a late first rounder/early second rounder (perhaps from Boston) and go after Duhon. I think he was way overrated two years ago when he was supposed to be a top ten pick if he opted for the '02 draft, but I think he's pretty underrated right now. I can see him having an impact somewhere between Carlos Boozer and Steve Blake." http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14644 Lamarcus Aldridge...brilliant. Actually, that was back when I got sucked into the hype that Nelson was going to be drafted a lot higher than I originally thought he would. For the longest time I kept holding out on the espn board that he wasn't going any higher than the late lottery. My first post here was right at the peak of me buying into the Nelson-hype...ah well...its in the past.
HOw can you go back so far? Mine only goes back to 500 posts. I remember after the Bulls trade with Toronto I got into a huge debate with Vintage and Prophecy when I first came here. Ahhh, memories.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post">HOw can you go back so far? Mine only goes back to 500 posts. </div>I had the same problem but I remembered that my first post was in the Warriors forum before the season had begun.
My first posts are sorta garbage. Being an introvert (even on the internet) I always start out like that. The first one was about South American players in the NBA and I choked by saying Delfino was playing in Brazil, when he's not even from Brazil. He actually was playing in Italy. Duh. My second post was about about Mullin, but only about how he looked a little red. Not too deep, either. Oh well, not everyone can get off to a smooth start.
