greatest players by position point guard 1. Earvin "Magic" Johnson 2. John Stockton 3. Oscar Robertson 4. Bob Cousy 5. Walt "Clyde" Frazier off guard (who apparently are the most nicknameable players) 1. Michael Jordan 2. Jerry West 3. "Pistol" Pete Maravich 4. Clyde Drexler 5. George Gervin center 1. Bill Russell 2. Wilt Chamberlain 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. Shaq 5. David Robinson Hakeem, Bill Walton, and George Mikan didn't make the list, but center was the hardest to choose so they deserve special mention. power foward 1. Bob Pettit 2. Moses Malone 3. Chuck 4. Karl Malone 5. Willis Reed small foward 1. Larry Bird 2. Eldgin Baylor 3. Julius Erving 4. Rick Barry 5. Dominique Wilkins

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">How do you justify David Robinson over Olajuwon?</div> This list is of his favorite players right? so maybe he likes d-rob over hakeem. this is why these things get stupid though...

It's his greatest players list. How do you not have Duncan in the top 5 for PF's? He's #1 for me with Malone being #2. I'd also have Hakeem in the top 5, ahead of Shaq.
My list as of today: PG: Magic Johnson Oscar Robertson John Stockton SG: Michael Jordan Jerry West Kobe Bryant SF: Larry Bird Elgin Baylor Julius Erving PF: Tim Duncan Karl Malone Bob Pettit C: Wilt Chamberlain Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Shaquille O'neal
No to Shaq over hakeem...lol...I'm sorry but Shaq's inability to shoot FT's is a big reason why I'd put Hakeem and Russell ahead of him....he's a great player without a question, but during his "reign" his hardest competition at the spot was Sabonis and Rik Smits...lol.....Hakeem played in a better era of big men and defeated them and outplayed them all when they matched up....my centers go like this 1. Russell 2. Kareem 3. Hakeem 4. Wilt 5. Shaq
D rob and Hakeem are a lot closer than people think. D rob was a BEAST, sure hakeem was ten times prettier, but both were equally great imo. I'd prefer the dream though. KG should be top 5 pf imo. Even ringless he is amazing.

Though I wanna add 2 more to each position to match with the original poster's list. PG: Isiah Thomas Bob Cousy SG: Clyde Drexler George Gervin SF: Scottie Pippen Lebron James PF: Charles Barkley Kevin Garnett C: Hakeem Bill Russel

LeBron is good but he isnt up there yet.. did you guys not see any USA games this summer he still has alot of improvment b4 we can justify putting him up there ahead of others who have proved themselfs over and over.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post">Hakeem is the greatest Center of all time, in my humble opinion.</div> Hakeem is great, but not the greatest. In my list, Hakeem could be found 2-3 in centers.
