Yo! I think the move is good for JJ,he wasn't gonna get off in this system. I think their is a design for Luke to be the Premier SF in this system. I kinda question Odom in this system with the games I have seen it just seems he is out of place,I don't know maybe it's a preseason thing but he just looks out of synce. I'm scared about Kwame....between you and I; I just don't see any enthusiasum. I just feel he is going thru the motions. If I were him I would be BEASTING, but then again maybe it's the offense. I just feel it maybe better to probably start Lamar at the 4 and Luke or Devin at the 3. Maybe Kwam needs to study from the bench and come off in a less pressured situation. From what i've seen Luke is a great floor leader who could probably get him in a position to score. Now let me tell you I have seen a couple of games and listened to them all online, and every morning I watch the box scores......DEVIN GREEN has been as close to flawless as you can be. I even am impressed with Laron Profit who looks exactly like Kobe I you arn't really paying attention. But this kid Devin Green can make this team, and while I don't hate Tony Bobbit I do think that him and Corie Blount can be gone. I like the defense and heart of Green,he reminds me of Josh Howard in his first year for Dallas even tough Josh was a first rounder who was a scorer out of college, he hunkered down and played defense and cought points where he could, and as the competetion rises so did his game. I just think ya gotta keep this kid, I also think Phil likes him because he has seen more time off the bench than anyone except D.George. Other perspctives: Arron Mckie does not want to be here and he does not seem to be hiding it. On the bench he is not showing the teammate attitude that he is famous for, and on the floor he's not showing the quaterback style that made him a name in Philly.I hope he is not salty over possible losing his starting spot to Smush Parker who is playing solid. There is a Laker commercial on FSN that shows different Laker players poppin up on the screen and goofing around. If you get to see this commercial; take a look at Mckie.... Perspective moves: I am not an insider just a very studious Laker fan, so the moves that I sugesst are just suggestions. Being that A. Mckie is seems to be unhappy here why not send him to N.Y. to a coach who absolutly would take him and a coach who he found his most success under. His hometown of Philly is close so i'm sure that he would love to go back to the east coast. I think that he and Devean George would be great Knicks under Larry Brown. They need a ahtletic/shooter, at the 3 and George is a good fit, he could possible start. In return I think that Maurice Taylor is a good pickup for obvious reasons, we need size and experinced post play,i think it also puts pressure on Kwame. He is a smart player and can shoot with range when he is open. I know that people like Lorenzen Wright as a option but I just don't think Jerry West wants to do a deal that help the Lakers unless it significantly helps his club. I also like the trade of Devean George and the Lakers 1st rd pick from Miami for Jameer Nelson and the rights to Fran Vazquez. I just don't know how Fran show his face in Orlando. It's obvious that the Lakers need a speed guard who can score and Nelson fits the bill. Finally: I have been studying the guard prospects in next years draft and I kinda like what I am hearing about this kid Gabe Pruitt from USC. He has good size at 6-4 he is supposed to be an outstanding defensive player and I just recently found out he is from L.A.. He is studying to become a computer engineer, so learning the triangle should be a piece of cake. The best part is he has a prostyle coach in Tim Floyd. Scouting this guy shouldn't be that hard for Mitch and the Bumass Florida State alum who talked Mitch into drafting Von Wafer, when Ukic was ripe for the picking. Shout out Ronny T
Interesting trade scenarios, I agree with your take on McKie so far. One thing to keep in mind though is he's old, and I think the Lakers want to save him for the regular season and figure out which young players to keep. McKie will be insurance in case one of the initiators on offense get injured. He can play three positions on the court so he's capable of backing up Kobe, Odom, or Walton in case any of those three get injured. I've never been a fan of Mo Taylor, but the Lakers could use his post scoring. I just don't know how long PJax would put up with his pathetic rebounding and matador defense. So far Larry Brown hasn't been getting much intensity out of him, I'm not sure if PJax would fare much better. Devin Green has been the feel good story so far from the Laker camp. His situation reminds me of Jannero Pargo a few seasons ago. I think he's the most ready rookie out of the Laker camp (with Turiaf out) and has all the tools needed to develop into a solid role player. He reminds me a lot of Devin Brown or Gerald Wallace.
