The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians by a score of 5-2. Joba Chamberlain got the start and win.

When I saw Joba on the mound in the 7th inning and saw the bugs, I was like, “Oh no, here we go again. I hope he makes it out of there.” He had great velocity on his fastball that was consistently through out the game hitting 95-96 mph. He even reached 98 a couple of times in the 8th inning. He had great location with his fastball. His curveball had a big break on it and he was throwing it out and away to the Cleveland hitters.

He was challenging hitters and pitching aggressively just like he was coming out of the bull pen for the 8th inning. He would throw first fastball strikes right down the middle and dared the Cleveland batters to hit it. They tried and they failed.(Well, except once) He was also mixing up his fastball by throwing it on the corners and early in the count as well.

He had a great strike-to-ball ratio while working quickly and pitched eight innings.

Then in the 5th inning, I saw Joba make an incredible play when he dove for the ball, caught it and threw it to second base for for the double play. He looked like Superman!

The Yankee now have the major league record for most games without an error which now stands at 18.

The double by Nick Swisher in the 7th inning was nice to put the Yankees ahead. Great moment in the game. He stayed on the sinker and drove it the other way instead of trying to hit a home run.

Player of the Game: Joba Chamberlain. The debate between starter and reliever just got harder.
