Sonics Its a very exciting offseason for the sonics. To tell the truth its one of the very very few that Sonicsfans have had in the past few years!A few key things that Sonica fans are talking about-Will the team move? Sources indicate that barring a miricle the sonics are headed out of town! It seems that the mayor or ----- is smallminded or greedy.Eitherr way he is clearly not a basketball fan. He knows that the current lease is the worst in the NBA as in the arena and yet he will not budge on a renegotiation of price and seems like he wont fix it either- To me that is disgusting- selling a inferior product at an extortianate price, have the threat of losing it altogether and still not br willing to budge. One of the few things that might save a relocation is the excitement of The Sonics having second pick - personally I dont thinks its should be called a pick this year its more like an allocation by the blazers. Either way hopefully it will create enougfh buzz that it becomes unthinkable for the greatest show in twn to leave. There other options open to The sonics but again politicians seem reluctant to part with any cash to make any deal stick.Speaking of the #2 pick, is it just me or does it make more sense if the Blazers take durant as he fills a need they currently have - and the sonics sure would be better off keeping Rashard Lewis and getting Oden. But I guess a few trades could change all that. What I AM wondering as a Sonic fan is the future of Lewis! Now I am fairly confident that he willl be resigned but I also believe it will be a sign and trade. Who could we really get in return - What is his Value- he showed with Ray Ray out that he can play really well as the #1 option and his rebounding numbers have gone up this season too, But is he worth a Jermaine O'neal or Randolph? I hope so - I have been disapointed for years in him and his game - specifically his lack of rebounding, so to see him traded for a solid rebounding scoring big man would be great! What else is there to be excited about? _ Well if your a Sonics fan that doesn't live in Seattle like me, a move may actually be a great thing- out of the wilderness into a large active martket like OK city or possibly Vegas seems like a great idea - finally they would (if they so desired) have the ability to attract big name free agents. Also with a few win some more nationally (and internationally) televised games would be nice.Still More for us to look forward to. SAM PRESTI - Wow I have read alot about this guy lately, and I am absolutley stoked we got him. He apparently is a salary cap wiz and very strong in scouting! We have always been less that awesome in those Areas. He comes from a great organisation and everyone from Popavic to Randy Buford has said he is a big part of that, I really like that Lenny Wilkins has brought in a young guy - not someone who has"been there and done that" Someone who will hopefully take a few calculated risks and set the supersonics up for the future! What to look out for - We still need to Hire a good coach, of the potential coaches (pj carlisimo, rick carlisle and Dwayne Casey I like the look of Rick carlisle. Not sure why - PJ has a bad history with players(well one player) and Dwayne casey didn't exactly shower himself with glory in minnasota.Im summig up Its an exciting time to be a sonics fan and a little scary to I musyt admit.GO SONICS!

But. thats the perfect world, but who knows, Seattle might persuade Portland to give up the first pick. :happy0144:
Jermaine Oneal 4 a sign and trade would be MUCH better.| They need his defensive presence as a big man badly.| Then again I doubt it will happen.|
