1. Kobe Bryant. Simply unstopable, led a team (aside from Odom) that would lose to NBADL teams regularily, to the Playoffs.2. Dwayne Wade. He won the championship. Often gets overlooked for a top 2 in favour of LBJ, but He dragged the Heat through the playoff through sheer skill and determination.3. LBJ. He might be the next player to average a triple doulbe. He has next to no weaknesses.4. Dirk. Simply put unguardable. Has improved his toughness last yeay and his D has come along way. A bit more aggressive on offensive would see him move up.this is where it gets tough5. Steve Nash - led an undersized phoenix team through LA (x2) in seven game series'. They simply ran out of puff. Is a sneaky scorer- should gain a step or two quickness with the hair gone 6. Gilbert Arenas -that right Washington fans, finally some respect for GIL. Scores in bunches performs in the clutch. Underrated.7. TD - Injured for the majority of the season, showed he still has it in the playoffs. One of the best bigs EVER. Doesn't fade when it matters.8. KG The man is still filling up the stat sheets. Despite his inability to close out games for his team, he is still a nightmare for opposing coaches to matchup. His D and rebounding is Awesome.9. Elton Brand. Does it all. Blocks, rebounds, scores, passes and most importantly he wins!10. Allen Iverson. AI is probably a bit low. But as with KG winning is now the biggest problem in being higher up.As is the problem with any top 10 there is never enough room for all the great ones, someone great is always going to be left out.- Yes I know Rockets fans yes I know!Honarable mentions: Ray Allen, Billups, Peirce, Tmac(could definatly be there-when healthy) , Yao, Artest , Shaq, Howard, Gasol, Carter, Kidd, Bosh, Redd, Marion, Amare(same as Tmac),
This is in terms of indiviidual talent1. Kobe- Unstoppable2. LBJ- Freak for his age3. D-Wade- the ring says it all4. Dirk- unstoppable shooter learning how to drive5. T-Mac- When healthy, was the best forward, says hes 100%6. KG- is getting old, but still puts up MVP numbers, if put on a winning team, hes my MVP7. Nash- 2 time MVP who makes the game look pretty8. Arenas- most underrated player in the MVP, almost scores at will.9. Brand- Does it all just like Clangus said.10. Yao- The best center in te NBA right now, should put up BEASTLY numbers this year.
Allen Iverson is way to low. He would be like 4th or 5th on my top ten. KG or TD should not be on that list because their numbers have gone down big time. Vince Carter should be on there also, not just honorable mention. My top 10:1. Kobe - 81 points? Can anyone else do that in our time? No.2. LeBron - Mature beyond his years and will taste success very soon.3. Wade - First champion from the great 2003 draft class.4. Dirk - Tough matchup for pretty much every player in the NBA. Almost won a championship.5. Nash - MVP 2 years in a row. Even without Amare.6. Vince - Has really shown life in New Jersey now that he is no longer a Raptor.7. Gilbert - The most underrated player in the NBA8. Iverson - Will always be the answer for Philly. Now has another AI by his side.9. Brand - Lead Clippers to their 1st playoff berth in a very very long time.10. Carmelo - Was the best player on team USA in the world championships.Honorable mentions: TD, KG, T-Mac, Redd, Pierce, Artest, Yao, Bosh, Shaq, Joe Johnson, Gasol, Kidd, Dwight Howard, Amare
1. Kobe Bryant- Best ball player in world. Amazing shooter, fantastic driving ability, clutch, great leader, great defender, very good passer....in other words the best.2. Tim Duncan- Even though he doesn't need to grab 20/10 in season anymore, he has shown he can still do it, as seen in playoffs. 3 rings, 3 finals MVP's, 2 regular season MVP's, the best low post player in league that still has the ability to average 22-25/12 in a season if his team needs it.3. Dwyane Wade- He is up there as one of the best scorers, passers and rebounders for his position, a good defender, and as clutch as anyone in the league. proved he can put team on back and carry them in Finals. A ring and Finals MVP pushed him into my top 3.*Tie*4/5- LeBron James- The best overall offensive player in league. Fantastic scorer, amazing passer, is so incredibily knowledgable about the game at such a young age. He has proven he can carry a team to and through the playoffs. His defense and clutch ability still aren't where they need to be for him to crack my top 3, but he is such an amazing talent.*Tie*4/5- Allen Iverson- Has shown he can carry dirt teams to playoffs before, and carried an average team to the Finals. He has an MVP trophy, many scoring titles, 2 ASG MVP's, and averaged over 2SPG for 9 straight years (was .6SPG off from 10 straight years). Has proven past 2 years he is still an amazing scorer and has added a very good playmaker to his advantage too.6. Tracy McGrady (healthy)- Yeah, I'll probably get blasted for this pick, but I feel he is deserving. He was best swingman in 2004-2005, and had one bad injury-riddled season in his near decade long career. When healthy arguably best pure scorer in league, has shown he can carry dirt teams to playoffs, and showed with Rockets that he is also a great passer and rebounder. He also has shown in past 2 years that he is not weak on defensive end at all, either.7. Kevin Garnett- Extremely tough to put him over Dirk, but I feel it's deserving. He is a great and versatile scorer, amazing rebounder, amazing passer for big man, and very good defensive player. Sure, he has not shown he can do anything in playoffs, but his normal 20-25PPG/12-14RPG/4-6APG/1-2BPG statline is just jaw dropping.8. Dirk Nowitzki- Sure, he is one-dimensional, but he led his team to Finals, is best scoring big man in league, and is a great clutch player. He is still a weak defender, and still can't rebound like a TD or KG, but his other attributes make up for it.9. Gilbert Arenas- Proved last seaosn he is a good leader, amazing scorer, and good passer. He has finally moved into this elite status, but question is can he sustain it? Can he improve defense and clutch ability (the LeBron free throw thing still irks me).10. Chauncey Billups- IMO best true PG in league. Very clutch, great scorer, great passer, great defender, and a winner with finals MVP and ring...very underrated IMO to the other 2 top PG's, Kidd and Nash.
Tim Duncan is not the 2nd best player in the league. His numbers are so down but that's probably because Parker and Ginobili have averaged big numbers so Duncan doesn't have to do much. His team hasn't been successful in the playoffs for the last couple of years. But the rest I have no problem with. Perhaps Brand should be on their instead of Billups.

They were 1 foul that was not called in last 5 seconds of game 7 vs Mavs from likely winning another ring, and he has been Finals MVP in each one he has been in. In that series vs Mavs he averaged over 30PPG and well over 10RPG, so IMO his numbers are down to emergance of teammates rather than him declining.

I don't think T-Mac should be on anyone's list. He's fallen off. I'd rather put Yao Ming up there, instead of T-Mac.

Season before he was best swingman in league (yes, his numbers aren't as amazing as previous years, but that was due to tough first month or so, he averaged 28PPG from December on). He proved vs Mavs in playoffs he could still get 30PPG if team needed it.
You know what, it's impossible for me to put these guys in order, except for Kobe. So I'm going to list my top 10, but not necessarily in a specific order.Kobe BryantThe best individual player in the world, IMO. Most people won't argue that either. He's the best scorer, one of the most clutch, a top 5 perimiter defender, can take over any game at any given time and he can basically have his way with anybody. He's just simply amazingLeBron JamesLeBron does everything exceptionally well. He is one of those guys that can get a triple-double on any night he really wants to, he's 6'8'' and can play 4 positions, excellent court vision, one of the most deadly scorers, very unselfish, good rebounder, team player. You look at his body, his maturity, and his game, then you look at his age. All you can say is "WTF?"Dwyane WadeD-Wade is right there with LeBron, his game is just crazy. He's a better defender than LeBron as well, and of course the 06 Finals MVP. His strengths are pretty close to LeBron - top scorer, can take over a game, unselfish with good vision, clutch, good rebounder, etc. But what I really love about Wade is that he mastered the mid-range game. That is very rare for most players.Tim DuncanArguably the best PF of all-time. People say he's on a decline, I don't really think so. I think he's going to bounce back this year. But anyway, Timmy does everything you could ask for. I mean he is 7'0'', VERY fundamental (hence the nickname: The Big Fundamental), great rebounder, one of the best defensive players in the NBA, very unselfish, perfect teammate, has a midrange shot, has every post move in the book, etc. Everything. not to mention 2 MVP's, 3 rings, and 3 Finals MVP's. Tim Duncan is unbelievable.Kevin GarnettHis team is not winning, but it's not his fault. It's the organization's fault, they do not seem like they even want to bring a title to Minnesota. Kevin Garnett is one of the most talented players the NBA has ever seen, he's a great guy, and he wants (and deserves) to win as much as anyone. You want to talk about his game? 6'11'', can play any position, athletic, powerful, great defender, probably still the best rebounder in the league, can get a triple double in his sleep, excellent passer, has range. He's unbelievable. I really hope KG gets a ring to go with his 03 MVP trophy.Dirk NowitzkiDirk is not a common player, not many people like him out there at all. 98% of the time, a 7 footer can't shoot anywhere outside the paint. Dirk has a beautiful shot and can hit from 30 feet. He's quick for a big man, can handle 3 positions, very very very consistant, top FT shooter, pretty clutch, hard worker, humble. He is definitely a top player in this league, and he's still young. I'm glad I get to watch him for a long time, because he's great to watch. That stroke is incredible.Allen IversonI am a HUGE AI fan. He is easily pound-for-pound the toughest player that I have ever seen step on the hardwood. His heart and intensity level on the court is above everyone. He is 6'0'' (with shoes on) and he gets banged up more than anyone in the league, yet he's always playing full-speed. I don't believe I've ever seen him get really tired, his endurance level is off the charts. He's the fastest player in the NBA, the best ballhandler, the deadliest crossover, the best scoring guard at 6'0'' EVER, hits big shots, takes over games, excellent passer. I really love everything about Allen Iverson. He may come off as a little "thuggish" but I could care less, look where he comes from. People that knock on Iverson constantly have no right to ever talk about the NBA again.Tracy McGradyWhen healthy T-Mac is one of the best players in the league, no question. He does EVERYTHING. I can't even get over how physically talented he is. Not only is he 6'8'' and extremely athletic, but he's a sick ballhandler, excellent passer, very good rebounder, one of the best scorers, arguably the most clutch player in the league, solid defense that's improved every year. And I love his style/swagger. He's so damn laid back off the court, but when he gets on the court he has that same look but he just pounds you. He can get cocky, but when healthy he always backs it up. I really hope he's healthy, and I really hope he gets out of the 1st round so people can recognize him as one of the best players in the league.Elton BrandWhy he's never gotten the credit he's deserved - I don't know. Well, maybe I do - he has been a Clipper and a Bull (when they were rebuilding). But he finally got that team into the playoffs. Brand is such a damn good player, I hate that he's not typically thought of as a top player. He's "only" 6'8'', yet he's one of the best rebounders in the NBA, he's very strong, has a great post game, a deadly mid-range shot, very good defender, very good shot blocker, very unselfish, could very well be the nicest guy in the NBA. The guy has put up 20/10 every single year he's been in the league, he's been an MVP type player for years IMO.Steve NashHe makes everybody around him so much better. He could probably get Brian Scalabrine 12 ppg. I mean he has eyes in the back of his head, on the side, christ on his feet probably. He's aging yet he's having his best years now. Weird, but no complaints. He has an awesome shot (especially from deep), excellent rebounder for his size, probably the best passer in the game (Kidd being his only challenger), makes big plays, doesn't miss from the line, leader. I think Kobe should have won MVP last year, but no doubt Steve Nash deserved it too. That's inarguable.Honorable MentionPaul Pierce, Jason Kidd, Gilbert Arenas
#1. Kobe Bryant: the dude averaged 35ppg on nothing but fallaway jumpers while being double-teamed. Damn.#2.LeBron James: Does a lot for his team and is very good despite being the most overhyped player ever.#3.Dwyane Wadeespite what Heat fans think, he isn't GOD, but he is still pretty badass.#4.Kevin Garnett: Yeah, he's this good. Too bad his team sucks.#5.Tim Duncan: NO, he is not the greatest PF ever...wake up people. But he is still a great great player.#6.Allen Iverson: A brilliant scorer and an overlooked defender.#7.Tracy McGrady: He's got Kobe's game without Kobe's work ethic.#8.Jason Kidd: Despite being older, he's still the best PG in the league. He's also 4rth alltime in triple doubles behind Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson and Wilt Chamberlain.#9.Dirk Nowitzki: He's just turned into a beast. Terrific shooter.#10.Gilbert Arenas. Maybe we should start giving this guy some love.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Michael Bryant @ Oct 8 2006, 12:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>#2.LeBron James: Does a lot for his team and is very good despite being the most overhyped player ever.</div>Only in his third season and he was already averaging 30+ and damn near a triple-double, so all of a sudden he is overhyped? Yeah, people seem to love LeBron a bit too much, but when someone plays the way James does, you can't blame 'em. Also, even if LeBron was overhyped, he did deliver with a bang! Nobody in the league can really mess with LeBron right now. The man is on top of his game. Last but not least, Kobe is currently in his prime right now. Kobe will remain there for a good three or four more seasons. LeBron? He hasn't even knicked the surface of his prime yet. That tells you something, doesn't it?
It's a joke that Paul Pierce isn't on a single list yet. He is probably the most underappreciated player in the NBA. He does EVERYTHING, and gets to the line, more, and in many different ways than just about everyone else in the league. He is one of the best all around players as well, plays hard all the time, scores, passes, rebounds, plays tough d against the other teams best player night in and night out. It's a joke the he's not on a list yet. Mine is probably along the lines of:1 (tie). LeBron1 (tie). Kobe3. Wade4. Garnett5. Nowitzki6. Duncan7. Nash8. Brand9. Pierce10. Arenas

Arenas</div>I was actually thinking about Paul Pierce yet I couldn't say he was any better than any of the guys I had in my top 10. Paul Pierce is certainly not better than AI or Tracy McGrady. AI had the edge over him in points and assists. Plus that unstoppable factor. And if u say AIs team is bad, just look at Pierces team! T-Mac was just plauged by injuries last season. If the question was who had the better season last year Pierce or Mac I'd pick Pierce. Although last season made people forget about T-Mac. Before this season he was right there with Kobe. Now LeBron kinda took his place and Wade took AIs place. Two years ago T-Mac was the unquestioned best player in the Eastern Conference and he's jsut getting better now approaching his prime.
1.LeBron: best out there and probably has the brightest future2.Kobe:Not quite a good as LeBron, but he has skill3. Dwane Wade: Great player and is expanding his game even more under Pat Riley4. Dirk: He needs to take his game more inside a bit we saw it in the playoffs but I want to see more5. Steve nash: how can you argue with 2 MVPs6/tie. Shawn Marion: I'm suprised he wasn't on any of yours' not to be a homer but he puts up way better stats than most of the people you guys put on your list6/tie.Kevin Garnett: Almost identical to Marion stat-wise and is expanding his game to behind the arc the only reasons why I don't have him before marion is he doesn't have a 3-pointer in his arsenal and he isn't as fast as Marion8. Allen Iverson: Puts up numbers but isn't a very good leader for a team9. Tim Duncan: He needs to break out of the inside once in a while and expand his range I know he can do it10. Shaq: he's past his prime but he's still goodhonorable mentions: Elton Brand, T-Mac(when healthy), Stoudemire(same as T-Mac), Paul Pierce
