http://www.packers.com/news/releases/2006/09/02/1/ Davenport doesn't shock me. I'm glad they kept Noah Herron over Davenport. Kenny Peterson doesn't suprise me either although I thought Tollefson should of made it ahead of Jason Hunter. Releasing Brewster, Gardner, and Rodgers shocks me. Here we go again. Only 4 WR's on the roster. Hopefully Thompson learns from his mistake and picks up a WR off of waivers. If not then I'm going to be very upset with that move and I've actually liked this off season so far.
I'm surprised Roy Manning was on that list. But I guess with Hawk and Hodge coming in, they had to cute SOMEBODY in the LB corps.
I thought that Gardner was in bad with the coaches so it doesn't shock me too much to see him go. But as stated above I also hope they pick up another WR (maybe Pinkston). Davenport's stats were a little surprising; 1,068 yards on 217 carries (4.9 avg.) with seven TDs in his four seasons with the Packers. Almost a 5 yard per carry average does make it look like a bad move to cut him...

It is suspected he was pooping in Brett Farves closet.

Because he stunk up the joint, At one time I was convinced he was the back of the future for the Packers but after realizing he coulden't stay healthy for a season that left me easily.
Peter Warrick was cut today as well. I hope Green Bay signs him. We need a return man badly and depth at WR is needed as well. Warrick would be a ideal pickup. I heard rumors that we were trying to bring him in for last years camp. I'd like to see Warrick in Green and Gold.
Warrick left Cincinnati last year and played for the Seahawks. I agree with Porky... Would be a great pick up.
Heck yes it would, I think he'd fit the system well to, he's very good at turning short catches into large gains, plus with the cutting of Garnder that leaves room for some veteran experiance, and WTF is with TT only keeping 4 wideouts again? He must be looking to pick some one up if not he defiantly does not learn from mistakes and should be fired.
It actually sounds like Charles Rogers will be the guy they pick up. I have mixed feelings on that. Mainly because of his attitude. He does have a lot of talent and upside though so maybe a change is all he needs. I did read an article where Rogers is someone they're considering picking up. Thompson wouldn't verify anything when asked but he did hint towards it and one guy thinks they may of claimed him already and it's just yet to be announce.
