Plus I don't even consider Hip Hop Is Dead a top 3 song of '06. It wasn' even the best song on the album imo. You gotta start listening to a lot more real rappers.
I like Hip Hop Is Dead (the album), 4 best songs IMO are Hip Hop Is Dead, Hustlers, Not Coming Back and Money Over bullsh**. My favorite is actually Hip Hop Is Dead, very addicitive and love the production.But as a whole it isn't one of his best albums. Much better than Streets Disciples, but his lyrics aren't nearly where they were in his Illmatic days, he just isn't as witty, entertaining and clever with words as he used to be. Some of the production on the album just doesn't fit very well either.Still much better than most of the crap we get nowadays.
Nah, there are still a lot of guys that are helping hip hop lately. AIFan put it nicely.But yeah, it's a good album. I like Hip Hop is Dead, Not Going Back, and Let There be Light.We need another Illmatic though!
^ Lol I think it's great.Very good album overall, it's no Illmatic but I still really like it. Right now "Let There Be Light" is my fave. Give it a listen. Carry on tradition, hustlers, black republican, money over bullsh**, you can't kill me, not going back...they're all great.
