I'm like the Teams. Except the first team with Dirk. But he was a lock anyway. I rather lebron the him. BUt anyway. Amare deserved to be on it. Hes had a great recovery and plays great ball. I love watching him play. He runs and has a good shot, and can also set up teammates. And Nash, well Nash is Nash.
all nba team is stupid because kg is better than dirk, yet he gets no recognision because he has a sucky team. if nash wasnt on the suns, if he switched places with kg, he wouldnt be all nba, the only reason he has so many assists is because his teammates are so good, they can make alot of shots. if deron williams or chauncy billups had those teammates they would be averaging more than 11.9 assists.
Seriously, who picks these things? I thought these guys were the so called "experts", we all as fans can mostly agree that some of these selections for All Teams, Awards etc. are an absolute joke.
<div class="quote_poster">AKIRA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">if deron williams or chauncy billups had those teammates they would be averaging more than 11.9 assists.</div> If you said Chris Paul, I might agree, but those two? No sorry, it's not the players around Nash that give him so many assists, it's him and the style of basketball that Nash and D'Antoni have created (the Suns system isn't an accident, it's what Nash thrives at). An assist has to be "a major part of the play," which either finds the player already with a "positional advantage," or helps him or her get one. Nash gets a lot of assists because of the Pick & Roll, he demands all the defense's attention because he's so deadly shooting (53% FG, 46% 3P) as well as quick off the dribble and can get to the rim, he can go left and right as well as lay it up left and right handed. So when the defense collapses on him he tosses it to the open player rolling to the basket for a true assist (he got the ball to a player with positional advantage). Deron simply drops the ball into the post and the big man does all the work, that's not really an assist and if he did that with Amare, Boozer, KG, or anybody most of the time they wouldn't give him the assist. I don't know much about Billups' game, but for his career he averages 5 APG and you can't say he doesn't have a good team, most people have considered the Pistons the best TEAM for the last few years. I'm not saying they aren't good point guards, I'm saying Nash has found what he is good at and has been spectacular, nobody else is as good as Nash is at his style, just like Nash isn't as good as John Stockton if he had to play in that system (although similar, they each have their own strenths and weaknesses). If everybody would be great playing on the Suns why don't more teams play the Suns style? It's because that's not a true statement, the Suns know the types of players that can thrive in the system, not many PGs can, that's why Phoenix has been unsuccessful at finding a PG who can backup Nash, there is only 1 Nash.
having a good team has nothin to do with this. steve nash is having record breaking numbers every year, and he definetly deserves to be on all nba 1st team, and this is comin from a guy who hates nash and the suns, and likes billups. i persoanlly think billups culd be a better player with a surrounding cast like nash's, but he doesnt have that cast, so deal with it. amare on the otherhand, did not deserve to be on 1st team.
<div class="quote_poster">drunkenbarden Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">As much as i hate Utah, how the hell is Boozer not on any of the teams?</div> Wondering the same damn thing. The people that select these teams are complete morons. Boozer should have made the third over Howard unless Boozer was listed as a forward (but he clearly played the center position all year).
