Nash- "I dont think I want to play for Canada again"

was watchin the Half-time show during the Raps- Suns game, Nash was interviewed where he said hes tired of being in Canada's ball program

I repect his reasons, being in the NBA your body goes thru a lot of stuff, but to completely reject carryin the pride of your country with the unbelieveable skills you have?...it aint right

Canada might not have honed his ball skills but its the least he could do to show he's a Canadian, playin in the NBA...

he's in current MVP runnin, the NBA is a global league, poeple prolly dont kno where he's reppin..reppin his country on the global stage (and winning) gives Canada an indvidual image, as not just a Hockey frenzied country..

I might b to harsh, dont get me wrong...its his decision.

Now that Vince is gone, we have no face in Canada, Stevie is our only mainstream strength.

Either he play or he come play for the Raps [IMG]..(i kno that wont happen)

He was mad over the firing of Jay Triano, and the fact that it seems like he is the only Canadian NBA player who is willing to play for his country. He has legitimate reasons to not play for Canada. Why bother when your team is not going to go anywhere anyways?

I don't see what the problem is, their's not been a big commitment to him by the program, and they fired Triano. Also he's been known to breakdown during the end of the season, and him playing in the Summer isn't going to do any good for him now that he's older.

It ain't surprising nor is it depressing to here Steve say that.
I understand his frustration with the cats running Basketball in the country, and we need to start building young players for the future. We have to stop chasing the Nash's and the Magloire's, because we're not going any where with those guys.

Might as well start from the bottom and build a generation that can compete in future Olympicc, World Championships, and the NBA.

We ain't in a rush, I can wait.

I totally respect his decision to do so. He spent 12 years with our Canadian team and he is now almost 31. He needs to maintain his body for the next 8+ years. I would rather get to see him in the NBA for 10 years, than him trying to help Team Canada for 5 years and playing NBA for 5 years.

Speaking of Nash, he just got ejected for the FIRST time in his career. He was swearing at the ref after getting blocked and he thought he was fouled.

funny quote, <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">``I told (Nies): 'That's a foul' with an expletive, then comma: 'What the expletive is going on out here,''' Nash said. ``I didn't have time, I thought, to get two technicals. I was in the middle of my first sentence, and he had already given me two. It was pretty quick on the trigger.''</div>
