The test, which every member of the Blazers must pass, requires players to run down the court and back five times in five timed sequences. Players at each position have different bench marks, with guards required to complete each sequence in 60 seconds, and big-men allowed a few more. If a player finishes a sequence early, they get to carry that extra time over into the next sequence. Nobody wants to fail on the first try, Roy said, because anyone who does will have to run it again. Every player wants to get the test over with, Roy said, so getting it behind them turns the test into an annual milestone. So will anyone not pass the first time? last year it was TO and Raef(?). This year I'm going to guess Batum or mountain man.
So that's tonight right? Do we get the results tonight as well? I swear, it seems like everyone's in tip top shape, so I'd like to say everyone passes
Alright well apparently it was reported on wheels: Batum got 1st place, and Oden got 2nd place...that's awesome, I didn't know Oden was already that much in shape!
I knew Batum was going to smoke this thing . . . anyone want my opinion about the upcoming season? Edit: Did anyone not pass the test?
Interesting, I know someone who coached Batum and he told me that he didn't think he was NBA ready mainly because he is extremely lazy. I Guess he was wrong.
I think it was Aldridge or Webster last year. I knew Batum was fast though from watching SL. What I didn't know was fast and enduring. I think the kid has a future. g
Okay, apparently the post on the other forum was wrong guys Apparently wheel's was talking about win/loss for players during the scrimmages, not the conditioning test.. So i guess the results are still not known yet
Martell was first with +21 seconds after the final five, and LaMarcus was second with +20 seconds after the final five. Same finish as last year I believe. This according to Barrett's blog.
