Do you want him Shape? I wouldn't go out of my way to acquire him, we've got enough issues to deal with in the off-season.
Lol, the Lakers asked about him after his performance. I seriously doubt anything happens. I'd love him on this team, but it isn't going to happen.
It would mean the Lakers would likely deal Farmar or Sasha for him so yeah I'd take him. Knicks are basically trying to get some value for him before his rookie contract expires. If the Lakers would be forced to take Jeffries as part of the deal I would pass.
I remember the Lakers had interest in him during the draft, but the Knicks took him before we could pick. It's interesting, Nate is a good player but I always viewed him as a douchebag. If all it takes is Farmar or Sasha then do the deal, otherwise I'd pass.
D'Antoni's always been a Farmar fan. I'm sure he wouldn't mind Sasha's shooting potential in his system either. My guess is the Knicks would take Farmar because Sasha's contract eats into their 2010 cap space. The Lakers would likely have to include a pick? Maybe they give the Knicks back the 2nd rounder they traded to us on draft day.
If we get Nate, it'll be both good and bad. lol He handles the ball all the time and might affect the bench's performance, especially Odom, but if we get to trade Farmar/Sasha, it'll be cool.
Farmar for any mediocre PG is a huge upgrade. Shannon Brown outplayed him and he didn't even know the system and was a fringe role player everywhere else.
I was actually a fan of the Farmar drafting back when it happened. I've become less of a fan over the past few years, though I don't think I hate him nearly as much as others here. I still think he's got decent potential and was really hurt last year by lingering injuries. Is he our PG of the future though? Probably not, but he's a decent backup and change of pace guy for us at the moment. However, if the Knicks offered us Nate Robinson for him, I would take it in a heartbeat. No questions asked, whatsoever. I would gladly rob the Knicks of one of their only worthwhile players.
Farmar has no future with the Lakers. I doubt he's gonna be on our roster when the season ends. He's had 3 years to prove himself, and instead of improving, it seems like he has regressed. The management is fed up with him as well. They basically tried to hand him away to the Rockets and even packaged him with our 1st rounder. No bite. I suspect that later on in the season, when injuries start mounting, some team is gonna come knocking when a point guard goes down. Someone will get suckered into his "potential" and we'll give him away for nothing. Regardless, even if he does play the rest of the season as a Laker, I don't see us making much of an effort to retain him as a free agent.
Yeah, I very much doubt that we'll be chasing him. And I'm almost sure that if LA does any trades, Farmar will be included. Though he is a pretty much an average PG now, I thought we had a future all-star in him before.
