<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nate Robinson will be given the chance to defend his slam dunk title, after all. There was some thought that the NBA would not invite Robinson to next month's All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas because of his involvement in the Knicks-Nuggets fight in December. "I'm glad they are letting him defend his title," Isiah Thomas said. "Just as long as I make my dunks, unlike last year, then I'll be fine," Robinson said</div> Link Well I'm not going to basically defend every reason I have behind why Nate Robinson shouldn't have won the title last year because I probably gave up on that early March 2006. All I got to say is that the Toyota Center knew the real winner. You can throw the Sixers-fan biasm crap at me if you'd like, but during All-Star Weekend I'm a basketball fan and a fan of the dunk contest and I think most would agree Iguodala is the real champ. The guy got cheated out so bad he didn't even want to participate this year. Can't blame him. Anyone think the judges will throw little Nate more bones this year?
<div class="quote_poster">Butter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> Anyone think the judges will throw little Nate more bones this year?</div> I hope not, Dwight might be in it this year. (Even if Dwight wasn't in it, the judges shouldn't have any bias.) And I agree that Iggy won it last year. Jeez, I remember that big argument, a couple people got banned. Anyone know when the participants are going to be announced?
All I know is Nate is the truth and the best dunker in the NBA. And quite possibly the best player in the NBA. So it's good he gets to own again.
The NBA needs to fix the dunk contest rules and put a limit on how many times a player can attempt a dunk. They could just put a time limit on it -- you get 1 minute to complete your dunk, and that's it.

If only the NBA were to put a maximum # of dunk attempts, that whole Iggy-Nate controversy would have never happened.
Any time a guy that high can dunk with authority, he wins. I dont' care how many attempts he needs. The guy has the highest proportional vert in the league by a wide margin.
The dunk contest doesn't mean anything anymore. They seriously need to get rid of this "rising stars dunk contest." People would prefer to see people Carter v Richardson or something, not someone who can just about dunk the ball with two hands.

And even if Iguodala had one like he rightfully should of, Nate's dunks would have been better if he didn't need 20 attempts per.

Laker fan is right. Ofcourse I want so see it. But there's nothing better than watchin the masters, J-Rich, VC, Josh Smith, D-Mase and Kobe dunking. I hope ya'll remember year 2000. Now that was exictment of the Dunk Contest. Change the name to Fanta Still Playing Dunk Contest's Legends Competition.
Why not ? On the other hand he has so much to give to the dunk contest. Exictment, fans, new dunks and a chance to be a two-time dunk contest winner.

Carter, in the dunk contest is like nash and amare. Magic in Motion. So Young Stars, is ok but lets have it open to anyone. I also hope Rudy Gay is in the dunk contest, that would be something.
I was actually a Nate fan up until the dunk contest; even though it really wasn't his fault. But I wonder what he'll bring to the table this year, and when does everybody else get announced?
Unless Nate dunks his ass in the contest, he's not winning. Hell, atleast make sure he attempts 2 per round or something.
