<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic // Alfonso Soriano has rejected a $70 million, five-year contract offer from the Washington Nationals, diminishing any chance the perennial All-Star will stay with the club."It's almost impossible this great player will stay on our payroll," Nationals special assistant Jose Rijo told the newspaper Listin Diario in Thursday editions.AdvertisementThe Dominican slugger is coming off the best season of his career, becoming the first 40-40-40 player (homers-steals-doubles) in major league history."Everyone is more than interested in having a player like Soriano, but finances are keeping this from happening," Rijo said.</div>Soriano
Hopefully he'll go back to the Yankees but I doubt the Yankees will go after him since they have Cano.

We have too many OF's as it is, and Cano is a lock at 2B. The only reason he'd be on our roster is to DH/learn 1st base... and yeah, he sure wouldn't complain about having to become a 1st baseman.

METS! Valentin is out after this season and Anderson isnt ready yet. Mets would be a powerhouse for years with em.

We just need to get a decent contact hitter for the bottom end of our lineup and id rather spend the money on pitching.
It'll be the same teams as last time. Mets, Angels, Mariners, Twins. They'll probably be a surprise team or two in there, but I would expect him to go to one of those four. The Yankees shouldn't even consider and I'd boycott if they did.
If he says no to 70 mil, why would he say yes to like 5 mil or whatever the Twins would offer him? lol.Maybe it wasn't the money, maybe he wants to win. So maybe the Twins could get him for cheaper than 70 mil. But i'm sure money is going to play a factor (it always does with these greedy athletes nowadays) so he'll take a 300 million dollar contract from like NYY/NYM/BOS/LAA.
