<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SPORT'S HOTTEST TICKET: According to Eric Baker, an online ticket broker for StubHub.com, the NBA's All-Star Game might be a bigger fan attraction than the Super Bowl. ''You can get an excellent Super Bowl seat for $4,000,'' Baker said. ''For the All-Star Game, a seat between the hoops and less than 10 rows up is going for $10,000 to $12,000. It's amazing when you think about it. The Super Bowl is a championship game. The All-Star Game is an exhibition. It's because it's played in a small arena, very few tickets are available and it is in L.A. It's the ultimate party with a very exclusive guest list.''</div> Link
Woah. Those are expensive seats! But I still think the Superbowl is bigger. It's a one-time winner take all event. Stadiums are filled to the rafters and everyone is glued to their tvs.
Not everyone. I think, personally, the All Star Game is better than the Superbowl, but I know that the Superbowl is definitely more popular among the majority. The real way to find out which is more popular is to have them air at he same time on the same day.

The Superbowl is bigger than the all-star game under normal situations. But with this years all-star game being located in LA made it a bigger media event then its been in a while. And with the Kobe situation it also added a little extra attention. I think the NBA all-star gets the most attention as far as being fan event than any other major sports all-star games.

The players wouldn't even want to play, they'd want to watch the Superbowl. I think the All Star Game is just more expensive, and I know it isn't more popular. I'd need more information to explain the difference in ticket prices. All I know for sure is that football is America's new pasttime, most people love it. The Superbowl is as big as it gets.

Usually football games have alot more fans in attendance than basketball, so that might be an indicator for the price. I dont understand how people can put a pretty much meaningless all-star game over the championship of the most popular sport in America. Although some like basketball more, it is rediculous to say the all-star game is bigger.
The high prices are attributed to the game being here in Los Angeles this year...Everything is inflated here compared to the rest of the country...As of a couple of days ago, I'm getting gas at $1.81 a gallon for regular...damn OPEC.... Laker games are about $50 i think for the the nose bleed seats....
Just my opinion, but if it were either the All Star Game or the Superbowl, I'd be seeing NBA all day.
No chance, at least not in my opinion. If they were on the same day, the Superbowl is on my TV. The All Star Game doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme, ticket prices don't mean that it is more popular. Just that more rich people get to attend.

Super Bowls aren't as exciting as they used to be IMO.
The Superbowl is a more bigger and popular event. It has more attendence more debates about it and more watchers. The reason the All-Star game was bug this year because it was in L.A. and most people favorite teams weren;t in the superbowl. That's all I can say about it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SirDunkadelic:</div><div class="quote_post">I Ilike the Alll star game more than the superbowl. It looks more fun too.</div> Well of course it looks more fun, All-Star game is a casual event, where all the best players have a good time, and give the fans something exciting to watch. Obviously, Super Bowl is a much more serious event for the players, your playing for A LOT more.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post"> again, Super Bowl is a more popular event but most of the time it's with two teams people don't really want to see, and it ends up dissapointing. Also although I love watching the allstar game the Superbowl actually means something, i could care less if the East or west wins the ASG

The real way to find out which is more popular is to have them air at he same time on the same day.</div> actually, there are more ways to find out. TV ratings is one. The Superbowl gets 4 to 5 times the ratings of the ASG. That is huge. This year the Superbowl was tuned-in in 47% of homes in the US. The ASG ratings aren't out yet, but last year was only a 11% share -this year should be better but not by a lot. even the MLB all star game has better ratings than the NBA ASG. the reason why the seats are more expensive is because the arena seats fewer people than a football stadium and so there's less available tickets and the NBA gives a bigger allotment of tickets to corporate partners than the NFL does, making tickets for sale to the general public even more scarce.
