NBA ANNOUNCES 2020-21 SEASON TO START ON DECEMBER 22

PORTLAND, Ore. (November 11, 2020) – The 2020-21 NBA season will begin on December 22, as announced by the league. The official game schedule will be announced at a later date.

After careful consideration in collaboration with the NBA and public health and state officials, fans will not be allowed in Moda Center for the beginning of the NBA season. With health and safety as our number one priority, we will continue to evaluate a timeline for fans to return to Moda Center, which has not been determined at this time. We will continue to take the lead from the state and are optimistic that conditions will improve as the season moves forward.

Many safety measures and improvements have been made to Moda Center in anticipation of having fans back in the arena. More information will be shared on these safety measures when we announce a timeline for fans to return.

If it is going to require sticking a long qtip thru my nose to attend a game, I will not be going to games. The restrictions on hosting games though make it unlikely for the Moda center to host games for awhile though IMO.

Baseball had a tough time getting sixty games completed and required less travel. Football has issues. Do not see basketball, with more travel, being immune to the same problems.

Also wondering about opt outs. Will we see players use this as a tool and/or have big names opt out this season?

Cannot wait till the draft starts next week!

I go to a pub to watch my NFL team play almost every week. I wear my mask at all times except when eating, which i don't do much of at live games, and only move my mask to take a sip of my drink. It's ain't that hard. I see clowns acting like wearing the mask is agony. C'mon man! I'm Asthmatic (severe), and i do fine. I would be honored to attend with the spacing and precautions that will be required. It's not like the Moda will be packed like those SEC Clowns.

Pandemic aside for a second, I just do not see the appeal of attending a game at 10% capacity. Nearly the entire reason for attending Blazers games is the atmosphere, which consists of a packed house, chants of defense, and high-fiving complete strangers after Dame hits another game-winner. Why are some folks so adamant on attending games in this current setting?

Interesting. The last 5 games I had the chance to go as a fan with my family we had a miserable time! Surrounded by loud obnoxious drunks! Spilling beer in my kids and wife. No thanks.

I know you meant to say that they were spilling beer on your family but loud obnoxious drunks spilling beer in your kids and wife sounds like they were tortured. Also there's probably some weird HCP's wife joke to be made but I'm not in on those.

I’d be willing to bet that the league will find a way to get players and coaches vaccinated pretty early on in the season. Once fans have access to the vaccine it will be a game-changer.

Had another $400 taken from me yesterday foe my seats. I wrote my acct manager but have not heard back.
Ive got thousands tied up for who knows how long.

this is how the Blazers can lose loyal fans. Just keep taking our money with zero plans in sight or options for halting payments.

lets say the moda does meet guidelines and can open. How many people get off work and go right to the games with zero time available to go get a test? To get a test within 48 hours of attending may be near impossible for most people on most game nights.

For this reason, I prefer to sit in MGB's seats. Plenty of elbow room in the handicapped section of the Lexus level. Usually no line for the restroom..They packed the seats in many locations too close together. Picked up a pair of row A 300 level seats in my personal account as well to get a little more room.

Me - granted it'd be a lesser experience - but as someone who goes to most home games (and same for Oregon State basketball and football), this drought of in-game attendance is killing me. Going to sports is the hobby I devote the most time and money to - to have stopped cold turkey like this has been awful.
