[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/iverson_jordan_365_97.jpg[/imgl]Iverson on Iverson: "I had a lot of growing up to do, and a lot of times I learned the hard way. I think those experiences helped me be the way I am right now mentally. I went through hell here, with the media, coaching situations, even times with fans... everything. I really feel that I am a man. I feel that being here in Philadelphia helped me become just that. I wouldn't trade it for the world, because I think it made me a better player, it made me a better person, it made me a better father, it made me a better husband, a better teammate. I took my bumps but I've had my great times here."

Put your average NBA fan back-to-back with Allen Iverson, and they'll surely identify with him. At 6-0, Iverson doesn't tower over anyone like your typical superstar would. At 165, he might even give up a few pounds. Yet A.I. has managed to carve out an implausible career in the league that his pedestrian size makes us admire.

    - A career 27.4-point per game scoring average
    - 16,738 total points
    - Most Valuable Player of the 2000-01 regular season
    - All-Star MVP in 2001 and 2005
    - Three-time First Team All-NBA (1999, 2001, 2005)
    - Owner of three scoring titles
    - Rookie of the Year in 1996-97
    - NBA Finals appearance in 2001</div>

The only other player that I know of that has it's own page on NBA.com is some guy named Michael Jordan. Looks like Iverson has decent company. It's going to be 10 years and running for Iverson and he THUS far shows no indication of slowing down. Hopefully he will get that ring. Whether it's by him leading the team or being a 6th man.

wow. this is great. im really glad that the nba has given him his own tribute. like avery said, MJ is the only player ever to have his own tribute by nba.com. so having this is a great honor. i really hope at the end of his career, people will look at the positives instead of the negatives like how he dresses and ect.

I think it's a real shame when a player stays dedicated to a team their whole career and nefer wins a title. Hopefully Iverson will. I think he can go another 10 years possibly also. I think he just needs to be a little less physical.

Check out the link in the first page, it's updadted with some of Iverson most memorable career highlights. Right now they are at #7 with him breaking the rookie record that was et by Wilt Chamberlain.

Hopefully that Jordan crossover isn't #1. It should Top 5 but it most def. doesn't deserve #1. Hopefully something like the MVP award is #1 or defeating the Lakers single handely in Game 1 is his most memorable highlight.
