League and team sources have told ESPN.com that the NBA, starting next season, intends to ban the tights sported at various points this season by several players, including three MVP candidates: Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Yes cracking down on tights is the most important issue in the league. [IMG]

How about tackling a real issue, like cracking down on the terrible officiating that plagues the NBA?

Yea thats so true, and BTW how does tights really effect the NBA dress code image? I mean i understand cutting down the length of the shorts, but can't you keep the tights?

Stern is only doing this because tights are becoming popular. If everyone didn't copy Kobe, this wouldn't be and "issue". If I was Bill O'Reilly I would definatly put this on the Factor and label this as the most rediculous items of the day.

David Stern is officially a Nazi. Next he's going to make sure all NBA players have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Uhmm what? How does this act relate to the Nazi's? lol....

This rule is almost as stupid as the NFL banning touchdown celebrations.

    Right here-

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Players who wish to wear tights are required to send the league a written request from a team doctor detailing a "medical need" for the leggings. That's because the league, according to sources, believes that some players are merely wearing them because they like the look.</div>

Even if they did like the look of tights, what's the problem wearing them?

    Stern really is a menace.

I'm sure the NBA wouldnt ban tights if it had the NBA logo on it and they would sell like headbands. I'm not a huge fan of the tights but it seems totally irrational to ban them, they are no different from the arm sleeves or headbands, wristbands, armbands, etc.

Wow this is so stupid. There is no need for this at all even if they like the look Stern is not letting these guys wear what they like I think it should be protested. PLus only about 10 guys wear them anyways.

David Stern has just come to the conclusion, all players wear basketball shoes because they like the look of them. Next year all basketball shoes will be banned from the NBA.

Because David Stern said so. Perhaps because he doesn't like the image portrayed by the people that wear tights? That the league is full of sissys?
