(Didn't see a thread about this -- my sincerest apologies if there is one, and please merge immediately or we're all going to die!) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3831137 Reading between the lines, I doubt the players union will either.
Hunter declined to positively or negatively characterize the lack of punishment for the Blazers and their billionaire owner by commissioner David Stern. "That's something we have to study, but clearly it's within the jurisdiction of the league what they want to do," Hunter told ESPN.com "I certainly felt conduct of the Trail Blazers was outrageous, and we'll monitor things from here to see if any additional action necessary. "But the reality of the situation is that we were able to put things back in place, and he signed. Had someone not decided to sign him because of the e-mail, we'd take a different posture. But he hasn't suffered any damage or loss," Hunter said. This is exactly what I have been saying . . . if anything, the Blazers helped Miles get signed.
People thinking portland should be fined or have draft picks taken away just have sour grapes. This isn't anything close to the Joe Smith fiasco. The Blazers didn't do anything that breaks the CBA rules
Agreed. Not only did they not do anything to circumvent rules, but no damage was done... Miles was scooped right back up. Ed O.
Yeah.. I see a slow death of this story by next week when Miles plays his 10th game in garbage time yet again. But still doesn't take away the fact that Memphis is still a terrible franchise, and Chris Wallace did it to get the luxury tax money ffrom us. Darius won't be there next season.
Fucking DUH! After Hunter's moronic bluster, someone sat him down and explained it out for him. Good that got straightened out.
