What is the rule with two way contracts? Are we allowed to sign him outright to an NBA contract without compensating the Queens or do we have to negotiate with them?

He looks physically impressive with decent footwork, but otherwise a bit slow and raw (especially for 24). He would be fine for the 13-15th player on the roster. Give him a year or two at the end of the bench practicing with real players and we can see if he becomes anything. If he is a taller, more athletic Eubanks, then it's a good move.

His game is the anti-version of what is currently on the roster. He is a bit slow and rough around the edges, but he does have good bounce and he does the things that Nurk and Eubanks don't do. He has very little finesse although he shows good footwork at times. He tries to dunk everything and contest every shot. His one exceptional skill is passing.
I think he would be a very good investment and just needs minutes because he has improved every year and is a true center that can at least match up size wise against other bigs.
I know Eubanks is no longer on the team, btw.

Yes - Portland would have to sign him to a 'real' contract. Kings would have 2 days to match if they want to keep him.

He's not eligible to play on a 2-way with Sac at this point.

Kings are far enough below the tax & only have 14 roster spots filled. I would assume they would match, but either way it would be a low-risk thing for Portland to offer a contract.

Makes sense. Unfortunate that Portland didn't appear to try and sign him

POR has some great young talent 6'5 and under. Going to get killed down low and on the boards. I may have to reassess my 35 win season prediction.

Center minutes over the last few years:
    • Jusuf Nurkic
    • Drew Eubanks
    • Trendon Watford
    • Cody Zeller
    • Larry Nance
    • Enes Freedom
    • Hassan Whiteside
    • Zach Collins
    • Skal Labissiere
    • Wenyen Gabriel
    • Meyers Leonard
    • Ed Davis
    • Mason Plumlee
    • Noah Vonleh
A real who's who of bigs right there. Would love starting center and center depth to be an area of focus, though I think the FO views punting on center as a feature and not a bug.

I like Queta better than Reath & probably better than Moses.
Hopefully we claim him on waivers.

Pretty sad when you're not needed because your team acquired JeVale "Shaqting a fool" McGee. If we were better I'd be more interested in Nerlens Noel, but there's no point in signing anyone old at this point unless they're a Udonis Haslem type.
