Okay. His injury will hurt the Nuggets. Melo's injury has been hurting the Nuggets and is one of the main reasons Jeff Bledzik got fired. Also this injury could be one that could set his career. Melo's injury is why the Nuggets are doing bad, he is thier main player and things that happen to him are for good and bad to the team
Handles the ball too much offensively, Melo needs to do less ball handling and let Andre Miller do more creating and make his life easier. Carmelo is pretty selfish at times, and though he looks for his teammates sometimes, he's a bad decision maker. Very weak defender, really needs to improve on this, his defense is pretty bad really not super terrible like a Jalen Rose, but definately not good at all.
Well of the course there are the off court problems he has beenn going threw but I'm going to keep this basketball wise. Carmelo seems to shoot to many jumpers, I think he should try to put a little more slashing into his game, he'd be a lot more dangerous. His shot selection seems to be pretty bad as well, he doesn't make his team mates better either, hopefully Melo will adopt these traits. It'll take some work but he is still a very young player so he can make room for improvement. Also he isn't the best on the ball defender, probably because he is an offensive minded player.... to play good defense you have to want to play good defense. The main thing for him is to be open minded and accept criticsm because it is sure going to come his way these days. If he works hard enough then skys the limit.
^ I think he's always balanced shooting jumpers with driving hard to the rim all right. This is the quote from the Sixers@Nuggets game from yesterday. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver had a hard time stopping Iverson, who scored 14 of Philadelphia's first 16 points after missing his first three shots, or anyone else after that. The 76ers closed the quarter with a 15-0 run, turning a 14-point deficit into a 28-25 lead. Denver had just as much trouble offensively, missing its final six shots and going 6:50 without a field goal until Anthony scored on a hard drive at 10:15 of the second quarter.</div> http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/bask...s.ap/index.html I think Melo makes his teammates better. There's a lot of ways you can make your teammates better besides just passing them the ball for an easy bucket. I think just having Melo on the court energized them, he makes it look easy, he gives them confidence. On a recent stretch, the Nuggets lost 6 straight without him in the lineup, and as soon as he returned they stayed poise down the stretch vs. the Sixers. But I agree with you he's still lots of room for improvement and that he's an offensive minded player and needs to be more defensive-mindedd, hopefully Coach Cooper can help him do that. I should add his negativity is that he's too easy going, he's too loose to the point that you don't know if he's serious about this game or not. But it's just a small matter.
I agree with silky smooth Carmelo needs to be more agressive. A lot of times he just starts driving then...nop there he goes with the jumper clank ball going the other way. And that quote proves my other point. When carmelo drives, then gets to the line, we win. When he decides he wants to beat everybody with his jumper we lose.
