I don't mind all that much if he is, but notice he said "until they give us a 16th roster spot" - in other words, his answer really just covered adding people. He doesn't (in saying that) rule out trades.

"There remains a possibility that Olshey could make a trade, of course, and if a no-brainer proposal came across his desk, he certainly would pounce on it. But while he left open such a possibility on Thursday, saying he and his front office would "keep our eyes open," the Blazers are most likely done making moves this summer."

Saying this is a nice way to get the press to leave him the fuck alone for a while.

Well I have got to say Neil Olshey hasn't done much to impress me since he's been in Portland.

So Wright gets another year to fix his game? And Claver? I wish they would cut him. I hate to see a guy like that just sitting for a year. He could play well somewhere.

Well, he drafted Lillard, retained Batum on what now looks like a bargain deal, traded ziltch for a Lopez and Robinson, then added Blake+Kaman to extremely team friendly contracts.

I'd say he has done as good or better than what is realistic for a team in Portland.

I would add that so for Olshey seems to have a gift for adding players that we all say "Meh" to, but then after they start playing we are shocked at how well they worked out. Yes, he has not brought a superstar to Portland, but how can you not like the synergy created by his moves?

We already have the superstar pillars in Lillard and LA so no need to try and get a Melo level player to fuck with the chemistry.. I love all the little moves he has made, bring in good character players who improve on what is already a team with great chemistry.

Even if you don't give him credit for Lillard, getting Lopez and Robinson for next to nothing is impressive enough for people who have realistic expectations.

The team improved by how many wins in one season, before winning a first round playoff series for the first time in how many years?

Nope. Olshey hasn't done anything to impress me either.

Neil has done a commendable job given the situations he's had over the last two years and I agree with his theory that most teams don't have the patience to develop a deep team that's locked into a system as the Spurs have been for a long time. I'm tired of revolving doors for roster pieces and coaches. Ready for some stability and culture that builds a championship team. I think we're well on the way. The entire organization has impressed me. Since Stotts has become coach and Olshey the GM, I've been a serious fan of the way it's unfolding. I've been a critic of many, many past GMs coaches and players that have come and gone here but I'm going to enjoy this Blazer chapter for what it is. One of the best since the Drexler, Porter era. It's truly time to enjoy being a Blazer fan and it hasn't always been that way. I was 23 when we won the last championship and I hope I get to see another one this year

Portland's best moves maybe the one Houston and the rest of the west could not make. The west hasn't gotten a whole lot better after one draft and a free agency period Of course a lot more has yet to unfold. But with how lackluster this team and General Manager has been, they are really fortunate to still be right there.

I just can't see how they are done. The Blazers are over loaded at the SG position.

Damn it! Why didn't Olshey clear cap space to sign Lebron or Bosh?!?

It's not all or nothing. Kaman and Blake are severely underwhelming
