Despite some strong recent play, Nuggets forward/center Nene said he's still hurting.

"There's no more swelling," said Nene, not fully recovered from right knee surgery in November 2005. "It's just pain."

But Nene is making an effort to play through it. He has averaged 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds his past four games.

"He's getting better and stronger every day," Karl said. "He's got a better bounce to his step. His confidence (is up)."

This is why I think signing him to that long contract was such a bad move.

Nene completely messed up his (was it ACL?), missed the season, and gets a 60 million dollar contract. This season he's averaging 8/5.6. That is definitely replaceable production. Hell, I think Jackie Butler could have produced close to that for 7 million.

    Bad move for Denver.
