Great, that's exactly what Denver needed to do. He is tough, big, a banger, and he's still young. He will be very solid throughout his whole career, and I can see him as a 15-16/10 guy in his prime.
Why the hell did they give him that kind of money? He hasnt showed them anything at all yet to induce a 10 mil a year contract. Overpaid. He has potential but Im not sure he's worth that much. I guess they are desperate for a young center to stay put for the future.

Nene was going to get $8-11 million from someone. It was just the Nuggets. Plus he was the best low post player out there.
I agree, not much of a surprise and Denver couldn't afford to lose him anyway. He may have been injured all season, but sometimes you have to take the gamble, especially on young quality big men.
