Yeah, big surprise... this has been my "hobby" for the last year or so. I have probably spent $500 on board gaming in the last year. I found a group on Craigslist. Can you believe they have other stuff on craigslist besides prostitutes and scammers? Anyway, the people are incredibly fascinating. The strategy of the board games is highly intense. After HCP's LARPING thread, I thought I would let the veil down a bit and see if there are any table toppers out there who will stand with me and say, yes I have tried to kill Dr. Lucky, or yes I was the betrayor Silon, or yes, I killed all the Shadows. Anyone? Anyone?

I have Catan, Carcassone, Blockus, and I've played Powergrid.

Cards Against Humanity doesn't really count, but it is a great drinking socializing game.

Of those games mentioned above -- I love Dominion and Power Grid. I bought Spartacus which is based upon the Starz series where you get to buy and train your gladiators to battle one another. Have not played it yet.

Robo Rally is another one of my faves.

I used the play the hell out of this until I turned 14 and discovered girls!

If I had the time, I'd join a league. Maybe when my kids turn into teenagers and want nothing to do with me.

Never got into any board games. Played magic when I was 10-12 or so, until I discovered all the kids that played magic smelled bad.

It was, but it was well worth it because it was based on the previous season's stats, and it was advanced enough that you could get similar numbers to "real life."

My buddies and I tried D and D for about two hours when I was 12. I believe I was an elf or something. When we got our characters done, it was time to play! Somebody rolled a die, we all looked around, and then we were like "that's it? Let's go outside and play some ball!"

We never tried to play it again.

I did enjoy both Stratego and Risk, though.

I never got in to board or card games, kind of surprising.
