Looks like Carter is finally stepping up and making a serious push to deserve the title of superstar. Back to back 40 point performances. On top of that, back to back double doubles with rebounds.

Check the stats, he's loaded, especially in this game. 14-32 FG shooting, 43 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Ridiculous. Carter not a superstar? If he continues to play this way, the new era has officially begun. He's finally showing shadows of his old self. A much more complete player now, no doubt.

How about Ron Mercer in the overtime period, I was shaking my head in affirmations like a maniac.

I think that Carter is true begining to fit in with the Nets team. He is bought in to the team's philosophy and schemes, and not he is getting the job done.

Just imagine next season when the Nets'll probably pick up a few 'big' pieces (pardon the pun) and when RJ and Carter will be on the floor together with Kidd. Not to mention a whole pre-season where they will blend together to create what I my optimistic mind will be a serious championship contender.

Kidd to the All-Star game!!! Imagine Kidd-Wade-James-Vince-Shaq for the East. Pretty small lineup against the West (cept for Shaq) but still an exciting team that can really take it to the West!!!

that was amazing. man i was like c'mon c'mon, everytime the nets fought back with 4... then got pushed back to 8. you're right, xpehbamxyu, mercer was just great down the stretch, layup, jumpshots man he was making everything! And Carter with the three point play on iguodala. I definitely thought he was take too too many three's (as was billy) but, for the most part it worked, and he came away with another 40+ and a nets win. Jkidd was absolutely amazing too, i'm always in disbelief when he's the pg and is one of the leading rebounders on the team.

    edit:
Did anyone else notice kidd's 16 assists.... to only TWO turnovers?! [IMG]

Overtime only? Since Mercer came in the game, he was making everything, me and my brother were watching, and after he hit three, every mid-range shot he took, I would just say "good!"

Coaches decide this week, I think it is today, actucally . Kidd's indiviual stats arent that great due to the injury & then his minutes being limited the first 10 games of his return. But I think just his pressence & overall team impact that he has had since returning from injury will be enuff to get him in the All-star game. I doubt the coaches will leave him off.

Anyway, last night was a sign of our scappiness because after the way Nets shot the ball in the 1st half, we all figured it would be a matter of time before the Nets opened up a big lead. But Philly stayed in it in the first half. And in the 2nd half, Jersey couldnt make a shot to save their life in that third quarter. They went about 5 game time minutes without a field goal. And the Nets couldnt really stop Willy Green or Corliss Williamson in that third. But we just fought to keep Philly within striking distance going into the 4th. And then in the 4th we were able to get a couple of key stops down the stretch. And Vince had that sweet 3pt play to tie the score. But I think that the most impressive thing had to be Jason Kidd locking down Corliss Williamson two straight times in the post, when none of our front line guys could come close to handling Big Nasty.

In overtime, we pretty much ran the same play over and over. Post Jason Kidd up on the strongside, wiat for the double team. And he swings it weakside for a Mercer 15 footer. And Mercer stepped up & knock down those mid range jumpers.
