Saw there was no game thread...discuss! Carter scored 26 of his 32 points in the 2nd half and also had 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Iverson dropped 37 and Webber once against struggled. He still hasn't found his groove yet. All the better for the Nets who are now only one and a half games behind the Sixers.
Vince carter wasnt playing well in the first half, and scored only 6 points. but what a great player does? He came back with a monster second half scoring 26 points and was unstopable. Great win for the nets, i hope we catch indiana not the celtics because with walker there, they are just too good. they have walker. paul pierce. and Ricky david you just can't stop that. Ask Utah. phonix. and the lakers especially kobe.
Wow, Vince is playing on some other level I don't understand. He averaged 8.5 FT attempts last month, and has started this month with 14 FT attempts against Philly. Also 32 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, wow..
I think the most important thing about vince is that, even though he couldn't score, he was grabbing boards and dishing out assists (i'm pretty sure most of those came in the first half). He wasn't useless, and kept the nets in the game in other ways (as did Best). Then when halftime rolls around, he turned on his offensive jets. Don't know if anyone noticed by krstic also bounced back in the second half, the nets' bigs did a good job on the defensive end. Oh yeah, and cliffy scored when we needed baskets and hit free throws. Good overall team effort led by VC
Every divisional win against Boston or Philly is doubly important from here on out, so that was a major victory for us tonight. I have been extremely impressed with Vince Carters ablity to step up in late game situation and take some of the leadership pressures off of Jason's load. Rodney Buford got some minutes in tonight as well, hopefully he can get back to 100% and take over the minutes that Ron Mercer is playing because he is a much better fit for the floor spacing of our drive & kick offense. Other then that I have to say our bigs did a great job keeping Webber in the mid-range area. Huge Win for us tonight....
Very nice game for the Nets, VC showed he still has an all-around game with that near triple double, plus he proved his leadership skills once again. Not the greatest game for Jason, but the rest of the team was able to take some load off of him.
