All the hype about the Celts and Knicks and to a lesser degree the Magic makes you forget that the Nets and the Wiz, two teams who had major injury issues last season, did improve during the off season without signing a major free agent or making a major trade.
The Wiz get their big three back healthy plus add Nick Young, Oleksiy Pecherov and Dominic McGuire in the draft. Darius Songaila is healthy again and Andray Blatche is re-signed. They don't have a post presence and their defense is faulty, but they have a solid team and surprisingly a lot of youth.
The Nets get their big three back healthy plus add a healthy Nenad Krstic and add Jamaal Magloire and Sean Williams, essentially replacing Mikki Moore and Cliff Robinson with stronger and more athletic talent. Vince Carter is resigned and they are still pursuing one more player. Marcus Williams and Josh Boone should improve. I also expect Boki Nachbar to improve as well. This is the strongest frontcourt the Nets have had since their title run in 2002-03. Their bench is questionable should any of the now Big Four go down but these guys are not slouches.

QUOTE (GM3)

I can understand the hype for the Celtics, but I don't get the one for the Knicks.

Zach Randolph is just on a whole nutha level.

Songalia should help the Wiz a lot, but at this point, who knows if resigning Blatche is going to be an improvement? The kid is, by all accounts, a WAY bigger knucklehead than Sean Williams.

That's just sad.

Z-Bo and Curry won't play very good together. There both real ballhogs. Z-Bo is used to being the #1 scorer on a team, but not anymore. The Knicks have a lot of players that can score, but the don't know when to pass the ball.
If the Knicks could somehow learn to share the ball, they could win a lot of games. But it isn't too likely.
But comaring them to Parrish and McHale is just too funny.

QUOTE (Real)

I'm really excited to see what Nick Young can do.

me, too. i wanna see him get the starting spot alongside gil.

Seriously Amare is going to score 50 against them. Honestly I reckon McHale could outrun Curry if they ran a chuck vs bavetta style race tomorrow. It embarrassing how goodhis skills areyet how bad his fitness and mental awareness is. He plays like someone who is slightly autistic

The Nets snuck into the second round of the playoffs last season. They aren't improved from being a second round playoff team.

We went through a hard fought Raptor team to get there. 2 out of our 5 starters for next year weren't even on the team last year (not counting krstic), and they are our new big men. We're extremely improved

We are improved, but we are still a second round and out team. If we meet the Raptors again in the playoffs, they would most liely win since they got the experience now and remember they werent exactly healthy last year too. Wizards wont go far without defense.

You've really gotta be high.
I wouldnt even compare those two to Kenny Thomas and Brad Miller... not without seeing a single game that matters!
Man they must be giving out presenter slots out like bobble heads at a Rockets game!
