Former Miami Heat guard Eddie House passed on a potential opportunity to rejoin the team, agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the New Jersey Nets. House averaged 9.8 points per game last season for the Phoenix Suns, the second highest total of his career. He also made 123 three-pointers. Palm Beach PostThough the Heat might be looking for help at shooting guard, House believes he will get more playing time with the Nets. House last played with the Heat in 2002-03. "He loves Pat Riley and he loved playing for Riley, but with the Heat roster the way it is, he thought it was a better fit for him going to the Nets," said House's agent, Mark Bartlestein, who added that he didn't have any in-depth talks with the Heat about specific contract terms. Palm Beach PostThe addition of House, a six-year veteran who averaged 9.8 points with Phoenix last season, completes the bench overhaul for the Nets, who needed to re-sign Robinson (two years, $1.6 million in the first, with the second partially guaranteed at $500,000) to keep the experience factor. Robinson is determined to make the most of his second chance. New York Post
Good news for the Nets and I'm glad the Heat didn't get him. The Heat lack outside shooters so he would be a nice addition and Payton is pretty much useless now.
I wouldnt say that patyon is useless he can toughen up and pump up the locker rooms hes a good leader. but yea bu im thinking house is a good additon but we need big men on the bench cliffs getting old.
Wow, what a great addition to the Nets roster and he fits the team perfectly. He will back up Vince Carter and even Jefferson. So if RJ sits on the bench you move Carter to the small forward position and House to the shooting guard position with Kidd running the point.Jason Kidd will find House open for alot of wide open looks and this was a great addition by the New Jersey Nets and they are certainly trying to make some noise in the East adding House,Williams, and Josh to their roster this offseason.Even though these are great additions the New Jersey Nets are in need of big men more than they need guards. I don't understand why they didn't go after Songaila,Mohammed,Elson or somebody to play the Center position because Collins is not a starting center in this league.
Krstic is actually playing center for the Nets, but I see your point. Truth is, as far as I know Josh Boone would get some playing time at the PF spot, filling in for Collins. Now that Boone is out until the All-Star break (at least), Mikki Moore and Uncle Cliffy will spend some time at the 4 position, backing up Collins. I think it will work out.But as far as Eddie House goes: as a fan I'm happy he's gonna play for "my" team. I've seen some games when he was with Phoenix, where he racked up 15-20 points sometimes coming off the bench. He even won some games in the fourth quarter for these guys. I know he doesn't always makes the smartest decisions on the court as far as shot selection goes, but still, it has been some years since we had a guy who could fill up the box score coming off the bench. Who's house is it?????????? Eddie's House!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nasty:
1.5 million is a little lower than what I thought he deserved, but the Nets will like their new shooter. Why didn't Denver go for him? They need a shooter. A cheap one too, and House is both.
Wow, the Nets will have a good bench next year. This was a great signing. They needed a guard, and this guy can shoot the ball well. He will provide a good spark off the Nets bench; something they havnt had in a while.
It's a good signing, finally somebody off the bench who can score. haven't had a player like that on the Nets bench in years it feels likenow for one more big man, i'm hoping we can land ely or evans.

It includes McInnis, and you're right. He won't be a Net, but as long as he isn't bought out (or traded for - not very likely), he remains on the roster, eating up space.
