The New Jersey Nets have reached agreement with veteran guard DeShawn Stevenson on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Thursday. Stevenson has played for five teams in 12 seasons, most recently for the champion Dallas Mavericks.
This is a horrible move for the Mavericks as he was one of the clutch scorers that stepped up when Caron Butler went down. Don't understand why you would get rid of firepower. For the Nets this is developing an offense that will be versatile. They now have Deron Williams, DeShawn Stevenson, Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez and Morrow. Also the promising rookie Marshon Brooks. Team may have a shot to go far in the East.
