<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Magic’s Keyon Dooling, seen as an ideal backup because of his ability to play both guard spots, is being heavily recruited by the Nets and the Heat. Although seven teams have approached the 6′-3″ Dooling, Miami and New Jersey are seen as front runners. The Nets are reportedly willing to give Dooling a three-year deal. The Heat will not. New Jersey first pursued Dooling in 2005, but he signed with the Magic.</div>

Well, this would be pretty sweet. We couldn't get Westbrook in the draft, so why not get the next best thing? Haha. I'd love having this guy on the team - he plays good defense, he's athletic, he can shoot a good midrange game, and he's just great to watch.

This would probably be the best FA signing in about 5 years. I think.

First question I have is since it might be a three year deal, how much will he be making and how much if at all will it affect our FA in 2010 situation.

Orlando is still the front runner. He has said he wants to return since before the season ended.

I'd take a productive overpaid Rashard over a less productive overpaid Vince. [IMG]

    In Vince Carter's defense his 07-08 #'s:

    21.3ppg 6.0rpg 5.1apg 1.2spg 0.4bpg 45%FG 35%3p

    Rahard Lewis07-08#'s:

    18.2ppg 5.4rpg 2.4apg 1.2spg 0.5bpg 45%FG 40%3p

Looks like VC was the more productive player and IMO he had a bad year, playing most of it on 1 ankle.

Vince is declining though and the Nets shouldn't have locked him up for as long as they did.

then again, with those numbers from VC, the Nets don't have Howard [IMG]

needless to say, it'd be great to have Dooling, but I really see him staying with the Magic.

Vince wasn't playing alongside an all-star player on the wings, either...

Id rather have VC than Lewis for the money hes due to make

    Rashard Lewis is due:

    2008 $17.2 million
    2009 $18.8 million
    2010 $20.5 millon
    2011 $22 million
    2012 $23 million

Hes definitly NOT worth that kind of money!

Meanwhile for a "declining" VC who put 21ppg 6rp 5rpg on 1 ankle.

    Carter is due:

    2008 $15.2 million
    2009 $16.3 million
    2010 $17.3 million
    2011 $18 million (Team Option)

Id rather have VC and his contract anyday over Lewis and that lucrative deal

*These salary #'s came from HoopsHype

Also every free agent says the same BS about "wanting to return" . Just look at Baron Davis, Boozer, Mikki Moore.

    Trade Hassell+ KVH for Nocioni
    sign Dooling for 2 years,
and I think we are a better team than last year!!

    Harris/Dooling/Marcus
    VC/CDR/Ager
    Nocioni/Simmons/FA (Hodge?)
    Yi/Stro/Anderson
    Boone/Sean/Lopez

That's a nice lineup to start the season, and if Lopez proves he is worth starting, we are a playoff team each year while waiting for LeBron, with the entire starting lineup staying intact in 2010 to welcome James.

Yeah, but you've got the attraction of Dwight Howard vs. the attraction of Dwyane Wade and Vince Carter. Really, who do you think is gonna pull in the players?
