<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, et al, meet Mariano Rivera.

Lately, all of the above have closing issues.

Of all the numbers that jump off the page (i.e. rebounding, turnovers) to illustrate why the Nets face a 2-0 deficit versus Cleveland, fourth-quarter issues that actually date back to the regular season are as telling as any.

For instance, down two coming out of a timeout with 5:39 left in Tuesday's 102-92 Game 2 loss, they went 2-for-7 with three turnovers. That included a meaningless last-second three by Carter, who otherwise went 1-for-4 during that stretch and is now at 34.7 percent for the series.

Sunday in Game 1, up two coming out of a timeout with 8:49 left, they shot 3-for-13 and committed two turnovers.

That's called feeding the beast that is LeBron James and Co. at home.

That's a combined 5-for-20 with five turnovers in crunch time, on the road, in the postseason.

"We need to do better. We need to do better," a hoarse and slightly edgy Lawrence Frank said Wednesday after giving his team the day off, with Game 3 not until Saturday at Continental Arena.</div>

I normally expect Kidd to get the Nets into a flow, but he hasn't done it like he did against Toronto. I'm sure Jason understands what happens if they go down 0-3, so hopefully he responds this game.
