I'm from Winnipeg, Canada, and because we can't the NBA game package from Directv up here anymore, and also because I doubt if many (or any) Nets games will be played on ABC, TNT or any Canadian station (except if they play the Raps), I was wondering if there's any way I can get all or most of the Nets games on my TV next year. Really I don't care what it costs but I'd like to watch the Nets play next year instead of following their games on NBA.com Courtside Live. So if any of you more experienced members know if there is a channel or package I can get Nets games on up here, please let me know.

I assume a lot of Nets games will be played on TNT/ABC/ESPN next season since they acquired VC and SAR, and are expected to be a top team in the East next year.

The Nets will get some tv time on TNT, but dont expect alot. The Nets are still a small market team with no championship history(other than ABA championships in the late 70's),a tainted past and considered 2nd rate to the Knicks by many outsiders....The NBA goes by a certain agenda when marketing & presenting games on TV...it isnt really about showing the teams that are most likely to win alot of games....you have to have a big tv draw like a Shaq or Lebron, Vince use to be a TV draw but Iam not forsure if he really is anymore. I think you will see alot of Laker games cause of Phil & Kobe, Heat games cause of Wade & Shaq, Lebron is going to get the Cavs on Espn/ABC or TNT at least once a week. And the Spurs cause they are the defending champions. I think that will be the immediately circle of teams that National TV will show every other team like New Jersey, Phoenix, etc are only going to get a couple of games all year, even tho many feel those teams are going to be the most fun to watch due to the tempos that their PG's set during a game.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets and YES continue to think big in their search for NBA analysts. With Mark Jackson's ESPN contract keeping him from working for YES, the Nets and YES now are trying to lure TNT's Kenny Smith into the booth, "NYP TV Sports" has learned.
Smith, who is a part of TNT's popular Thursday studio show, would work a limited schedule, which could create a large role for CBS college basketball analyst and former Net Mike Gminski, ex-Nets analyst Jim Spanarkel, or Jersey City's Bobby Hurley.

At this point, it looks like YES will have multiple analysts.

"Two would be the most," YES president of production John Filippelli said.

Smith, who played high school ball at Archbishop Molloy, has received permission from TNT to talk with YES. He declined comment for this story.

Marv Albert, YES' new lead Nets' play-by-player, has pushed for both Smith and Jackson. Unless ESPN changes its mind, Jackson will not work any Nets games.

"Mark's contract at ESPN precludes him from working at another network," ESPN spokesman Chris LaPlaca said. </div>

Iam glad that Jackson couldnt take the job, he is a serious snoozer over there at Espn...I dont even watch Fastbreak when he is one of the host. Bringing in the Jet is a whole different story, I think Kenny Smith's assessment of the game is current with today's market field. Very solid move by Yes if they bring in Kenny Smith

I would love to see Kenny Smith doing games with Marv. He has a great knowledge of the game and at times he can be funny, he would be a great compliment to Marv. Hope he gets the job.

Jet I feel has stuck with VC during the injury years (while Chuck was/is bashing him...) so it will be great to see him calling vince's game if that goes through.
