<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Raptor swingman Morris Peterson was in Utah this weekend amidst conflicting reports on just how much interest there is in him. Peterson said that the Nets are among seven teams that have contacted him. The 6'-7" Peterson, who turns 30 next month, had an up-and-down year with Toronto, but still averaged 8.9 ppg and 3.3 rpg in 21 minutes of action. In addition to having a reliable jumper, Peterson is known as a solid defender. He made $4.55 million last season.</div> Source
He could be good coming off the bench, but we already have too many people playing in the same position as him. We need a big man, unfortunately Mo Pete doesn't fit that role.
Imagine the irony. Carter and Mo Pete again together, against rival Toronto, man that would be a sweet playoff match. I think though, he will go to the Jazz. They have a legit big man, PG and Center. All they need is that SF/SG, if Fisher comes back, Mo Pete plays SF, and they are set. He is a good defender, the Nets would be good with him, behind Carter or Jefferson.
I like Mopete for the Nets over Antoine Wright. Wright to me seems like the worst offensive SG in the league.
I said we needed a hustle player, and here's one of the best available. Mo Pete would be an excellent veteran addition to the team, but not for more than 3-4 million a year. Obviously, I'd prefer to get a big man, but if we can't sign a decent one, we're better off trying to trade for Jermaine O'Neal. Then, say we trade RJ, we have Mo Pete who will be able to come into the starting lineup as a SG/SF and give 10 ppg and great defense. Perfect player, and I'd prefer signing him and trading RJ+ for Jermaine O'Neal than just signing Joe Smith/Jamaal Magloire.
Carter/Peterson reunion that would be sick cuz then VC's gonna stop trying and MoPete's gonna stay inconsistent and before you know it, the nets will be driven into the ground. this will be good for the raps
