The New Jersey Nets have signed President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn to what is believed to be a 5 year, 4 to 5 million dollars per year contract extension. Thorn says he feels very comfortable with new owner Bruce Ratner, who he says has given him the power to make the team into a contender again. The Nets are expected to have lots of cap space next year to sign free agents, and trading Jason Kidd and his $90 million, 5 year contract would also be an option.
