<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Michael Costello is a 12-year-old resident of Secaucus who loves the game of basketball. "I play for two teams," Costello explained. "I play in the Secaucus Recreation league and for a travel team. I'm basically playing basketball all the time." Costello figures that he's either a power forward or a center. "I think I'm mostly a center," Costello said. "I have to get rebounds." Costello is also an avid follower of the New Jersey Nets, who play their games at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, just a stone's throw away from Costello's home in Secaucus. "I am a very big Nets fan," Costello said. And his favorite Net? None other than All-Star Vince Carter, who just recently re-signed with the Nets for another five years. "I am a very big fan of Vince," Costello said. "I think he's great." So what do you think young Michael's reaction was last week, when he got the chance to attend the basketball camp headed by Vince Carter? "It felt really great to be here with someone like Vince," Costello said. "I got the chance to meet a player I normally only watch on TV. It's incredible to be able to be here with Vince." Vince Carter is not your typical NBA superstar. He doesn't want to be removed from the public. He wants to be around kids, because he remembers being a kid once himself, a kid who growing up in Florida never had a chance to meet a professional basketball player. "I looked up to Dr. J [Julius Erving] when I was a kid, but I never got a chance to meet him," Carter said. "I didn't get an opportunity like this." </div> Read More
