<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jefferson nearly was sent to Chicago on Draft night in 2006 for Luol Deng. In October of that year, the Celtics were interested in him in a package that included Al Jefferson that the Nets turned down. And last off-season, the Nets offered Richard Jefferson in deals for Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O’Neal and Lamar Odom.</div> source listen I like RJ and how he's the last link to that great Nets team, but how the F U C K @@#@$@!!! did you turn that down Thron !!!!
well, at that point he wasn't very impressive, and he really worries me. since getting a major role, his teams have done terribly. last year with Boston, this year with Minnesota. It could very well be the supporting cast, but it still worries me, elite big men shouldn't consistently be on bottom 2 or 3 teams.
A scoring post presence with the Nets right now would be heaven. He might be the type of player we need right now.

Good point, ghoti. Look, if we turned down RJ for Al, that means RJ>Al Jefferson. The Wolves basically traded Garnett for Al Jefferson, which means KG=AJ. So, that means RJ>KG, which means we could've traded RJ for KG and didn't...how didn't Thorn see that one...
i kinda remember that jefferson for jefferson trade...i think the celtics were trying to get rid of a bad contract with al as the sweetener...
Quick somebody get me a DeLorean. I'm putting the finishing touches to the flux capacitor as we speak.

All he needs is a side kick or a partner for his team to succeed... last year he had pierce and they did pretty well except for when he got injured. And it's easier to guard a sucky team whose star player is a big bec. they arent very mobile therefore the opposition could easily double team him.
another blown chance, thing is, we could have traded rj for him and then traded al for KG later on, kidd, vince, KG, Boone, Sean.... damn
Looking at what Al has been doing in Minny, it just feels like a kick in the head. That could be of been our future big man; one that is already a very solid player. In 2006, he was averaging 16 and 11 so I'm not sure what Thorn was thinking.
Al only averaged 14 and 18 minutes up to that point. Not much proof of his abilities. I remember that the Celtics were trying to unload a contract too.
